Online specials: Steam, Greenman Gaming, GamersGate, etc

We got paid today :(

ouch.

Erm just wait till 20h00... Gabe will help you with your problem.....

Edit: My rules to survive:

1) Do not buy anything that is on sale unless its a flash or daily
2) Budget Budget budget: Go so far as to buy Steam wallet funds and stick to that amount no matter what. Hide the CC
3) If you miss a flash or daily do not buy the normal sale unless its the last hour of the last day. Some flash deals sometimes repeat.
4) If you short on cash fix up your wishlist and only buy games that appear on both your list and a flash deal. Avoid temptation.

If you really short on cash:

5) avoid the internet as a whole.

Edit 2:

Almost forgot buy all your games as gifts and store them in your inventory. Only add them to your library when you want to play them. That way you can always trade it later or even use it as a gift for someone's birthday later in the year <-- Esp good way to deal with remorse buys.

There's nothing in today's daily specials or flash sales that I want right now. Some of the normal sale prices have caught my attention though but those I will only buy at the end of the sale just in case they make it to a flash or daily sale.

Booooring. I doubt there will be anything worth buying for me during this sale.

Well only things I am looking out for this time round is DLC's for already owned games. The ones I want I would buy anyway so will wait till daily or flash to pick em up.

Sigh, I'd probably find many more things to buy if steam's wishlist feature would just work properly. They don't send out wishlist emails for Steam sales, and even now my wishlist still shows banished as 19.99, but if I go directly to the game it's on special for 9.99.

Nice survival guide AlphaJohn. Now it's just finding the discipline to stick to it.
Must say though, I've escaped round one unscathed. 15 days to go!

oh FFS! One of the only things I may want isn't on special is Dark Souls 2 DLC, but the main game is. WTF!#^%*!$&@$%

The main game is one of the only things I may want (only have a "test" copy), but I'm only getting paid next week so I can't buy it now. Hopefully my brother will get paid tomorrow and then I can borrow money from him so long. At least it's on sale untill Saturday night.

EDIT: Awesome, made a plan and got it. Now I am done for this sale, unless Lords of the Fallen goes down a lot. To like $15 or something.

Great stuff! Dark Souls 2 is epic! Though I preferred the level design in 1.
I'm kinda disappointed in Lords of The Fallen, very slow gameplay and the story and voice acting is very, very blazê.

Yeah, I used to have DS2 on PS3 and finished it on PC (using the "test version"), but since I have DS1 on steam I wanted DS2 as well. I would like to play both of them again before Bloodborne comes out, but I'm not sure if that will happen.

I just want Lords of the Fallen since it's supposed to be similar to the Souls games, but I'm not prepared to pay too much for it. I see it's on sale untill 2 Jan for $24.99 so I might get once I get paid, but I'll wait and see if it goes down more first.

Anyone here used Nuuvem? People on Reddit are recommending their sales (damn those prices are cheap - $16 for Shadow of Mordor) but I wanna know if any local people have had any issues with payment.

You have to use Paypal of course, I don't want my card to get locked because all of a sudden I'm buying stuff from Brazil, or something like that.

i much preferred the "fast travel" ability in Dark Souls 2.

Looks like it won't work. Valve's put region restrictions on games from certain countries (including Brazil) Source

Edit: It seems it's just with regard to trading. Someone in the comments mentioned buying from Nuuvem without a problem.

Yeah, those new restrictions are only for new gifts purchased from the actual Steam store. I can't trade with the Russians anymore. Sale's just aren't the same now. Valve's cracked down hard the past two days, the whole game trading scene is basically dead.

Some games from Nuuvem do have region restrictions however (it's labeled in red if they do), although not many. It's mainly the games from Deep Silver (so Metro, Saints Row ect)

Beware of region locks. Valve stepped up the game as from start of Steam holiday sale.

The post said that as of Wednesday, the new change will be in effect for all packages on Steam. This change does not allow packages to be unpacked on an account if they are gifted or traded from a lower-priced region to a higher priced region. This change only affects new purchases, the company stated, and does not affect gifting/trading within the same region.
See http://www.tomshardware.com/news/valve-steam-trading-gifting-russia,28238.html and https://twitter.com/SteamDB/status/545138931805995009/photo/1

I remember someone complaining about this in one of the forums, dont recall which one.

Thief: Master Edition is like $2 over here.
It was posted by someone at Steamgifts and reading through the forum seems legit enough and you get a steam key, dunno about physical copy.
