Online specials: Steam, Greenman Gaming, GamersGate, etc

Dont know if I would trust a free vpn seeing as how you will be using paypal etc

I guess you don't know how https works then? With above attitude you should not use the internet period, as they would have no more access to your traffic than say your ISP and every node you use.

I would use this argument if they used http only.

That's the trouble with some of these sales. Yes, you may get a game relatively cheap. But more often than not, it's a mediocre game. Problem for me is that I already have such a crazy backlog of GOOD games, the last thing I need is to pile on avg stuff

Gotta agree with that, I'm eying these specials with more thought than before.

And still I mess up...saw the Crazy Machines bundle, thought I didnt have all the DLC's and only after buying did I see I owned all the DLC's.... idjit. I'll be putting those up on steamgifts soon.

damn, thats a pity. but at least the forum scores with those items as gifts :)

Holy crap but DLC's have turned into a money making machine. Cant always be sure whether the dev is milking the end user with DLCs or does it really add more to the game. I guess it depends on the dev.

Yep depends greatly on the dev. The Payday devs are constantly adding a ton of content to the game, and they are giving away probably 50% of it for free every time. I picked up the 2 weapon packs now on special for the price of one.

I miss the days of Quake where there were tons of custom levels, models, mods, everything custom thing you can think of. Was great... of course not all were that great because it was just some guy doing it, but there were some mighty fine stuff.

You still get that with games which support mods or Steamworks these days.

That world still exist, Steam's Workshop for games like ARMA, Torchlight and so on are still very much alive and kicking.

If anything, with the Steam Workshop and ModDB and successes like DayZ modding is actually getting a resurgence in mainstream popularity.

I've heard of sites generating their own fake certificates. Unfortunately yes I don't know much about it, and what other vulnerabilities are out there, so I tend to just keep well clear of it all. Perhaps I'm just being paranoid.

Odd that this one was not mentioned under the Weekly deals as it has the same timer as the rest.

90% off on ARMA: Combat Operations (Selling for $0.79) Might be worth a look if you have some cents in your Steam wallet you wanna get rid of.

Note that if you bought Bohemia Interactive bundle. Combat Operations is the same as ARMA: Gold Edition without the Queen's Gambit expansion. 90% off deals are also a good way to boost your SteamGift contribution value's.

NOOOOO, Guess ARMA was a PEBKAC error then. Just got home and wanted to pick it up now :(

Condemned: Criminal Origins is an awesome game. Swimming in, almost drowning in atmosphere. For less than $4 its a simple must get.

I really enjoy playing that game every once in a while too.

Interesting to note that it appears to be a whole 1c cheaper on GMG than it is on Steam. I don't think you can use any of the vouchers on the purchase over at GMG unfortunately. I picked Condemned up over two months ago with the voucher for $3.00.

I'm still trying to decide whether I should get AvP 2010 on Steam/GMG while I still can.
