Online specials: Steam, Greenman Gaming, GamersGate, etc

Haven't tried it, no. But MDK 2 HD is on my wishlist and I may just decide to get that one. I'll keep you posted if I do.

whoa. Just checked on gog- MDK's normal price is $5.99, which will run perfectly. its $10 on steam. If you wait you could probably pick it up on a sale for half that. They haven't got the HD version though from what I can tell.

But cool, if you do get it from steam let me know how it runs

Man I don't know how many times I finished MDK- what a legend game.

oooh sweet man, always wanted to give this a spin

Have you tried MDK on steam. I'm always weary of older games on steam after commandos ran like trash.

Which Commandos game are you referring to ? All 3 Commandos games work 100% via Steam on my side, there was a 3rd party patch for the first game that fixed a lot of things for the Steam version.

Plus, anyone wanting to purchase MDK 1 or 2, or even the combo pack, here is another fan made patch for the Steam version of MDK 1 which adds a lot of features: http://steamcommunity.com//sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=159519491

:)

Just the first one. It was waaaay too fast. The little men were bolting around the stage. How trust worthy are those 3rd party patches? I'm neurotic about installing unknown software.

Is that mdk patch the one that offers opengl support or something?

Well to be honest, Commandos is an old game and obviously it won't have any support anymore. Therefore, fans of the game took it upon themselves to create fixes and workarounds in order for the game to be played / enjoyed by hardcore fans and/or people who bought the game recently.

It's understandable that you or anyone else might be neurotic as you put it, but you either use the speed & save fix for Commandos to make it compatible with current gen systems or not play the game at all. I've reinstalled Commandos again this morning, used the speed & save fix and it works just like it did when it was released back in the day. If you want, I can provide you with a download link for the fix. Also, it's possible to play multiplayer as well.

As for MDK, yes that patch adds glide (3DFx) support for the game which obviously improves the rendering performance which works on modern hardware as well (just click on the link and read, because it appears as if you didn't do it).

PS: I have Win 8.1 x64 incase you're wondering about my OS

The Steam versions of those games run through uplay anyway, so getting them on Steam just adds an extra hurdle.

I know, but I like the steam achievements, big picture mode (possibly streaming to your tv in the future), community, stats and having the games in one unified library. I also prefer having them all in one place for download purposes, instead of having to keep track of which service is hosting which titles, and dlc bought through steam sales are only available on steam versions of those base games. I even activated the games I bought through the EA bundle through steam.
That said I will buy an origin or uplay game if I have to, or if it's an incredible deal, but not the other forms of drm- capsule, Teges etc.

Possible mistake? http://store.steampowered.com/app/243950/
76% off while the images say 66% :D

Pretty sure it is a mistake, just got Divinity: Dragon Commander Imperial Edition for $10.79

Yep, steam blooper.. it's fixed now.
How is the game though? Kind of tempted to enter your GA :D

I don't think it was a blooper. I think I might get extra discount because I own some of their other games. They don't specify that anywhere though, but it's still 76% off for me.
