Online specials: Steam, Greenman Gaming, GamersGate, etc

Seems like GMG (over the weekend atleast) and GOG are doing a preemptive special strike before the speculated STEAM Summer/Winter June sale.

GOG's sale is usually before quite a bit before Steam's. They actually know when Winter/Summer begins.

I remember that for a couple of years now, Steam only started theirs in mid-July, it seems this year someone bought them a calendar, because it's apparently going to start on Thursday.

Time to start hiding your money :D

EDIT: Peggle is free on Origin, part of their on the house promo.

If you don't get the reference.

The Steam summer sale is rumoured to start this Thursday.

Mid July versus 19 June, is quite a difference ;)

Okay, let me help you with that...

Just a heads up, if you ever bought Crimsonland in the past, you can send them your receipt to get a key for the enhanced edition on Steam! So glad I never delete the stuff in my gmail account, I bought the game in 2006! It's still a lot of fun.

Magrunner: Dark Pulse is free on GOG. That one looked good, and it's not very old.

Man, the guys over at GOG are great. Their sale has been good as well, I've picked up some games from them.

Today, they actually have some crazy deals. You should have a look ;)

EDIT: A heads up to anyone that owns Trine. It's getting a free update, the Enchanted Edition. Basically, they're porting it over to the Trine 2 engine. It'll be at no extra cost, and both the original and enchanted version will be playable by selecting them in the game's launcher.

Also they're adding online multiplayer as well. That's very nice of them, especially since they aren't even charging for it. Of course, expect some gameplay and graphical enhancements.

I know GoG are DRM free, but just wondering; Is it possible to add the games bought on GoG to eg. Steam?

(I know it defies the point, but curious).

You can add shortcuts to the games in Steam, but I'm pretty sure that's not what you want. :p

GoG is not only DRM free, they are also completely anti-DRM, so there is no way they'll ever give Steam, Uplay, or Origin keys for anything.

GOG is giving away more free games. 3 in the next couple of hours in their flash deals. The first is Omerta: City of Gangsters.

Don't search for it, because it'll still have it's normal price. You have to find it among the flash deals. It was on the left hand side for me.

I'm pretty sure more than half my GOG library is made up of free games.

I usually do this because I like having the Steam game overlay functionality. Interestingly enough though, if you launch your non-steam game this way, you can also stream that game to a different computer with Steam's new streaming feature.
