Hey all,

I was just wondering if anyone has any experience with OpenWeb for their ADSL ISP? I like the look of their packages and they seem to have a good track record when it comes to client satisfaction.

Can anyone confirm their service or otherwise?

I have a 2MB uncapped ADSL account with them and i have to say i'm very happy :D Haven't experienced anything major yet.. think the last time i needed support was when i couldn't connect to my account but a quick email resolved the issue within 30 minutes.
 
Yeah its fine. You can PM Mr Beep over at mybb for test account. Sometimes people have bad luck though & it just doesn't work in their area....pretty rare though.

Watch for specials too...some great deals.

Generally...try to avoid running large amounts of data (e.g. usenet) over encrypted links & you'll be fine.
 
Yep... I'm still on their Uncapped Lite package which is basically uncapped and unshaped until you reach a certain "threshold" (top 20%), and then heavy shaping / throttling occurs. I think the one month I hit 200Gb or over and was still going strong... Don't think you get these packages anymore though.

And how much did you pay for that package? At which speed?

Not that I can remember. Back when MWeb announced their uncapped ADSL offering, Openweb did the same the following week (but without the 12 month contract). About a month or two after that, they made this package available so I immediately switched over to the Uncapped Lite. Back then, the MWeb offering pretty much sucked so this was a pretty good option.

And how long have you been with them?

Whenever that was. Can't remember specific date, but about a month or so after uncapped internet became available in SA.
