Operation Flashpoint the 4 player coop really sounds like a fun thing to try? Aswell as the game modes. Can anyone tell me what they think of this game on pc?

After the previous one I gave this one a skip because of it being a simulator and not a game. That is fine too, but I'd prefer phew phew not that way for now :D

It's not a simulator. That's ARMA 2. The makers of this game even banned using the word 'simulator' in the office supposedly.

I'll probably get it. I enjoyed Dragon Rising with all the mods installed. Made a big improvement.

Never played it coop. Probably would be fun.

Prefer ARMA 2 though.

Dragon rising was quite the 'army sim' and far form being the 'normal' 'call of duty' game play.

yes it is far more "authentic" than COD.

People looking for a COD style experience will be in for a nasty surprise.

According to one review they'd made the game easier by making the AI less accurate. They would be a shame if true. Dragon Rising was rather brutal in that regard.

Hmm i enjoyed OFP1, but then shunned it for Arma. Then Arma 2, both of which are awesome games to play online- though I've never tried OFP2 fearing that it would not be better than Arma 2. Might try it one day when I'm bored, and have money to throw around. Arma 2 + inc BF3 sounds a lot more appealing.

I became very annoyed with Dragon Rising. I even attempted it on Easy and found it way to difficult, especially all the different buttons for different commands, etc.

The graphics were good, no doubting that at all. I guess I would have to demo Red River properly on someone elses machine before buying it.

.

lol yeah it's not COD. Even for seasoned ARMA gamers it was tough

I played it on hardest, i found it to be way easier than cod, etc at this sort of level, but that could be because COD becomes frantic and not about skill but save points.

I suppose legions of brain dead adversaries charging at you firing can get quite difficult even if you can soak bullets like a sponge :o
