after almost 13 years of providing cape town residents with monthly Lan's (most of the time at the bellville velodrome)
the OC owners has decided to sell.

OC will on be the market for 3 months, thereafter should we not have received any offers to purchase we'll simply be wrapping the event up and selling the various equipments and assets we have.

Potential buyers of OC should be young energetic self motivated type of people, preferably with a marketing background or focus. OC's biggest failure to date in my opinion has been its inability to successfully mass market for participants, attract and RETAIN sponsors that wish to tap into our core market and database of players. To a lesser extent we have been unsuccessful in implementing a state of the art booking system, as using Compu-ticket or related services would have been excessively expensive.

Sad days indeed... however I think it's more due to the fact that no new games that come out have a LAN option... so people are left with digging out the old games and after a while it just gets monotonous.
OC was epic for all the 20 odd events I attended, especially with a massive group of awesome friends.
However with no new games to play it gets dull.
