Origin sale 50% off

Oh well, I guess I could buy Simcity: Societies if I can't find it anywhere else. I did say I wouldn't get any origin games though.

I share your hatred of origin but the pricing for some of the games are damn good.
I think I'll cave and buy a couple.

The force of resistance is not strong with you.
I recently restarted playing Kingdom of Amalur, hating Origin more than Steam. Learnt the hard way the difference between cloud saving and system saving. Lost about 3 - 4 hours of save game time. I was not amused.
Now I just leave the game to autosave only, that way I don't get the problem with it having conflicting save locations, unless there is a way to turn cloud saving off?

Origin menu/Application Settings/General tab/scroll way down, you'll find some checkbox for cloud syncing (memory's a bit foggy, but you can disable it)

Very tempted to get Crysis 3, and thinking about Battlefield 3, though not sure if I'll play it.

Elsewhere it was mentioned discounts on XBOX and PS3 games : http://www.polygon.com/2013/3/19/4124362/origin-player-appreciation-sale

Crysis 3 for $29.99 on Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and on Windows PC as a download or a physical copy (regularly $59.99)
Dead Space 3 for $29.99 on Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and on Windows PC as a download or a physical copy (regularly $59.99)

I was always of the impression that Origin was for PC gaming and a look around their website shows no XBOX games, or at least that I can see. What am I missing?

For Steam: Right Click Game -> Properties -> Updates -> Enable Steam Cloud Synchronisation

So many versions of BF3, which would I have to buy to play SA servers multilayer? Not interested in anything else.

Read the banner carefully, it says 'up to' 50% off, sorry mate :(
I see. Thanks for correcting. Not sure whether that helps the situation though..."up to" blows too. I take back what I said about lies though...

Such nice specials. Really annoyed that I cannot make online purchases.:(
Go to your bank and ask for a cheque card. A cheque card has the same numbers on it like a credit card & can be used online. Its limited to whatever money is in your bank account.

A word of warning though: Credit cards have insurance that cheque cards do not. So if the transaction fails (e.g. game is not added but money is deducted) then its going to be a rough battle getting that back.
