erm dont you think that statement of the burial is weird considering that he was killed inland ... sorry it sounds more like they disposing of evidence ... you dont see them doing that for the other people they killed during firefights ...

though if the idea was to dispose of the body so that people dont make a shrine of him then thats another case which is still wrong in Islam ...

Yes, but read what Omega said again. Any country that said "Yeah, okay, you can bury him here" risks being associated with terrorism, however distantly - and I think Pakistan in particular would like to avoid any more accusations of being a safehold for terrorists - it's bad enough he was pretty much living in plain sight in a city, and not holed up in a cave.

It's basically going to turn into a clash of politics vs religion - I'm sure the Muslim scholars will argue the point, and I would most likely agree with them, but they're looking at things from a religious point of view, while governments have to look at a much bigger picture. Politics trumps all I'm afraid, and nobody really want's to piss off the US - trigger happy as they are.

As to whether he is dead or not, I doubt the US would make such claims only to see him appear on youtube standing in front of the white house holding today's Washington Post or something. The Yanks are not always the brightest, but I hope they are not that stupid. I think the question should rather be when did OBL actually die? I reckon they offed him a LONG time ago and have merely been keeping it until they needed some good ol' morale boost.
 
Speaking of morale boost ^ it's ironic that I saw a Yahoo news headline something along the lines of "US soldiers morale low in Iraq" a day or 2 before Osama's death.

Wonder if the team who took him down is going to share in the prize-money? Or even if they're going to get it, considering the fact that they're government employees?

Quite possibly, isn't there a whole debacle going on about Obama's birth and whatnot? If that is the case then this seems like a fitting distraction, coincidence?
 
Haha. America needed some reason to keep the war going, so by making up bullshit like 'killing the world's nr 1 terrorist, but dispose of the body at sea before a proper investigation can be put in ensuring that it is infact this terrible man our government told us about. Reminding us of 911 and the horrors this man caused, disregarding the fact that America fucked up their own towers on that day'. Now that the nr.1 terrorist is dead, now there is nooooo waaaay they can leave the country now.... Not with the new Face Of TERRORISM about to pop up at any time and shoot them in the face. or something else...
