Over clocking help

Hi Guys,

I trust every one is keeping well, I need some help on Over Clocking, I got a new Dell Latitude E6320, quick spec:

CPU: I5 - 2.5Ghz
Ram: 4gb
GPU: Intel 3000

I am running it on bios a06 ( I see there is a a07 and maybe a a08 out ) should I download the newer version even thou i dont have any issue.

ok back the my question, would I be able to over clock the machine and what software would I need

Yeah I think you should upgrade your BIOS, it's never a bad idea.

Sure you can overclock it... although, remember this is a laptop. It's got a stock cooler, which is acceptable at best. And it's got the mobile chip i5. So unless you have some hectic custom cooling built into it I'm not sure why you would want to overclock.
It'll just use more battery power and create more unneeded heat.

Give a good reason for hwy you want to overclock!
 
Ovrclocking a Laptop is almost never a good idea. The big issue is heat and always will be . I wouldn't risk it .

Please don't tell me swapped you're gaming pc for that?
Also Cranky is right, overlcocking on a laptop is a really bad idea. A bios update will be good for the machine but do not overclock.
 
Double cool thanks for the heads up, I will definitly leave it standard then. I will definitly upgrade the Bios

@ Joker lol no those crazy days are behind me, I just bought this machine for work and playing around on, I was suprised that this lil machine runs most my games:)

Been trying to overclock my c2d dell for some time now... This thread is giving me second thoughts though. It's my lappie that never gets used so thought I try and push it :D Clockgen just does not work though. Perhaps it's fate.
