Overwatch ZA server viability petition.

Good Day fellow Overwatch players.

I would like to invite everyone to sign a petition I have made concerning Overwatch servers in South Africa.

We are going to try and get as many signatures as possible to persuade Blizzard to look into maybe getting a server cluster set up here.

Now I know that many of you are thinking that this won't happen but honestly what is the harm in tryng and the more sigs we get the better chances we have.

Anyways I hope some of you decided to sign up and also have a great day further.

Doubtful this will happen. I remember the petitions for both wow and D3. It's not financially viable for Blizz to set up shop here.

Even if you think it is not viable but still signed I thank you. All we want really is an effort to at least see if it is viable for them.
 
There were talks of local WoW servers for YEARS but never happened. So Doubt this will happened. But hey, signed it anyway
 
I fully support this, as I have wanted servers for Blizzard's games in Southern Africa for a very long time.
With Overwatch using AWS as a platform, we may yet one day see this come to fruition if AWS ever launches a data center in South Africa.
 
The other question you have to ask is does South Africa have a big enough player base to substantiate this its pointless having low ping if it takes 20 minutes to find a game? I have no idea what our local numbers are.

We have local servers for Counter-Strike and Dota 2 and it never takes me over 4-5 minutes to find a game - so it seems works for those games :)

With regard to Overwatch players, I'm not sure of local numbers either, although I'm hoping the petition will shed some light on the current situation.
 
I'm unsure whether this will really work, but if Blizzard really want to take the Competitive scene to Valve, they're going to simply have to add more server regions than they already have. Signed nonetheless!

Not necessarily due to their workings they currently have international tournaments with the likes of NA taking on European teams for example. I must admit if you want to see the one time lag really does take an effect though try playing genji against bastion doesnt happen all the time but often i will die even through my reflect but in the kill cam you don't see it being cast
 
TBH, i would actually think about buying it if there were SA servers. For most people the ping isnt a problem, but for some (us people without wired connections), FPS games are unplayable with wireless.

Sometimes i don't mind the ping but when you hit that shot that you know would of been the kill shot and it doesn't register, it can make me shout ugly words.
