Parental Corner

My youngest turned 2 yesterday and as we were opening presents it struck me that there must be a few vindictive little people somewhere in the world that enjoy seeing parents struggle to remove toys from the packaging. I don't understand how they make it so difficult to remove those little twisty thingies that hold the toys in the packaging.

Aw man, toy packaging is the worst! And then the kid is sitting there all excited for their new toy, and you're like sorry buddy, you can't play with it until I find a screwdriver, a pair of sidecutters and a blowtorch.

Im looking forward to building a bike :D

Baby room is painted and Tatty Teddy border in the process of going on, here is a pic of what it will look like completed.

Lol, even more challenging is when you are not at home with your kit, you need to have a multitool with you all the time.

We got wall decals, this one (http://www.fantastick.co.za/opencart/index.php?route=product/product&path=64&product_id=367), but the tree trunk is brown, and then we found another sticker with animals, and a giraffe with measurements on. And up some green floating shelves for baby stuff and books and things

Baby linen has arrived from Kids emporium. I can feel my wallet getting lighter the closer saturday comes.

My nephew started walking for the first time this week. Still a little unsure of himself. His 1st birthday is on next Saturday. I have to go birthday shopping sometime. He loves those like hoop stacking toys/games so I'm thinking something along those lines as a present.

So my son asked if I could buy him an Audi. Why? Oh, they look nice. I'm not sure if they come in Hot Wheels. No dad, an Audi!

He's only 4

Thanks, I think we might actually have a book by them. Should read it a bit.

Oy ya, and we have one of these http://www.babysense.co.za/shop/taglet-stone.html

He loves it, and it actually does help him sleep. Cost R100 or something, which seemed ridiculous for a little bit of cloth, but I'd totally buy another one if he lost his.

Taglet's are great but the little ones love them. On a non-sleeping note, our 2 year old boy was up pretty much all night coughing his lungs out - the cause - reflux!!!

Ah bummer man, I keep hearing about reflux these days, it seems to be the cause of all sorts of problems

Nexiam is a really good product. We were trying to ween him off the medication, but sadly it was to early.

We've been very lucky so far that our boy has been very healthy, my niece is about 7 months old, and she's already been on anti-biotics something like 4 or 5 times.

Our eldest (4.5 yrs old) gets a bug, and then runs a high fever for a day or 2 and kills the bug. Our youngest has been on antibiotics more times than I can remember and recently spent a week in hospital. He is asthmatic which comes with a whole lot of challenges. Hopefully he grows out if it.
