PC and Console gamers: let's just be friends

Are these thread derails really necessary? Go read the article again and tell me which part discusses batman vs superman.

Honestly guys. :/

Rustig, rustig. :)

Only like 6 posts, 8 if you include yours and my post now. It is a bit off-topic, but not too bad. Plus, it kind of stopped.

The whole batman vs superman thing seems HEAVILY one sided though ?

I wouldn't say one sided, but I like the argument as a thought exercise more than anything. What would happen if both Supes and Bats went at it in an all out brawl with the intent of defeating each other? Considering they both know each other very well (they're pretty much best friends), and each has their own strengths and weaknesses to exploit. I think it's missing the point of the question when one says Superman or Batman would simply win without considering the amount of variables.

Silly boy, Superman is a jumped up jock...Batman on the other hand is pure awesome sauce <3 lol

No he's not .

Apologies good Sir. I think I'm at fault here...

Back to topic: I think the argument of PC vs Consoles is a dead horse. It all comes to consumers looking for different things, and the variables in what they look for can't just be simplified to which is the hardware powerhouse or which is the cheaper platform, etc.

I really don't care...some games just work better on console than on PC and others just work better on PC. I prefer FPS games on PC as I want my mouse and KB, however for racing games and platformers I prefer console.

Where things get weird for me is games like Mass Effect where Mass Effect 2 & 3 on the console was awesome, but it was just as enjoyable on PC (except for ME1 which was just horrible on console for me); Personally I just play on whatever I want depending on what I think would be the best fit for the game. I couldn't care less if something runs 720p on a 50" screen or 1080p on a 22" monitor...graphics and graphic quality mean jack shit to me.

I do wish to continue this though, over to TK!

I find that very difficult to believe. Can you give some examples and say why you think they won't work well on PC? Aside from developer incompetence, I can't imagine any good reason why a game shouldn't work as well or better on PC than on console.

From a technical aspect you are 100% correct. I'm talking more from a controls perspective, take Tomb Raider as an example. I find Tomb Raider an absolute dream on a console (or with a controller on the PC), whereas playing it with the keyboard left me frustrated. Same applies to Call of Duty, on the console I found it extremely frustrating to play, whereas on the PC with a keyboard and mouse it just felt natural. It's more of a personal preference I guess, but that is how I feel. It has less to do with capabilities and horsepower than it has to do with the experience.

True but heres the kicker, can you use a mouse and KB on your console?

Yes and No; From what I can gather you can use the KB & Mouse for navigation but not for games (I have not tried this and have no intention to try it either). I'm funny in that respect, I also dislike the layout of the DualShock controllers and prefer the XBOX 360 controller for PC (where I feel it makes sense) and my console gaming (which is predominantly XBOX 360)

I do think that sports games like FIFA is much better on consoles, even if you use a controller on PC it still feels smoother on consoles.

That's about it I think

Maybe, PC is definitely my Favorite but games like FIFA just work on consoles, especially having 4 or so controllers with some mates playing.

I'm putting this down to the fact that FIFA on the PC platform has never really been a priority. They only started getting FIFA PC on par with FIFA Console with FIFA '11 or '12 (in terms of engines), and even then you can tell that they developed it primarily for consoles while PC gets a port that could be better (I guess it's been better with FIFA 12 and 13). They even did the same thing with FIFA 14 in the form of the PS4 and Xbox One consoles getting their with the Ignite engine, while leaving PC with the same Ignite-less version as last gen consoles (let's just say I wasn't even remotely impressed:rolleyes:).

That's mostly because the PC and console versions are completely separate projects handled by different teams, afaik. In general I think sports games are better on console, but only for that fact. Other than that, I think PCs can do everything a console does and better at that too.

At the risk of being flamed, I'll keep gaming on PC for my serious gaming and later on I might get a console for my casual gaming. Like, use the PC for everyday gaming and the console for when I've got a few friends over and we want to play some games.
