I want to upgrade my pc in a little while and I'm thinking about getting a new case to put it all in.

At the moment I have the Thermaltake Shark. I really liked this case but its quite noisy as the side panel has a large mesh opening that lets all the noise and light come out.

Till now I've been pretty happy with it but I really want something new to look at. Something with a nice cable management system that doesn't break the my poor piggy bank. It has to have enough room for the i7 mobos and new Radeon GFX cards to fit (have a Asus HD5850 atm).

Anyone have any ideas?
 
Well depends on the budget and if you would go second hand. Also do you move it around a lot to lans etc. The HAF series are nice, and if you do go second hand and don't move it around a lot it could be pretty sweet.
Also take a look at the Coolermaster Gladiator. Very pretty case.
 
I have to agree with simon on the HAF series, I've heard a lot of good things about them if you dont lan/move your pc around too often.

Otherwise I have a coolermaster scout which has a handle for moving it around, great for lans but it is a tad cramped inside so not sure about the new GFX cards being able to fit comfortably...
 
I've always loved coolermaster cases. But that one you posted looks quite nice.

Personally I'm not the one to go for the flashy looking LED-packed PC cases. My case just has like one big LED light that illuminates the whole inside in a faint red glow but most of the time I have that turned off anyways.
 
For cable management, Coolermaster HAF X. Got a Coolermaster Stacker 832, but wouldn't mind the management system of the HAF.

Bigger than the HAF X, better cable managment, much better looking, much better airflow.
 
I got the HAF X a month or so ago and I'm very happy with. Few issues worth mentioning is that the awesome huge size of it restricts the cable management from being properly utilized because the (bottom mounted) PSU might not have long enough cables. Mine only just reach when I connect them straight. Not an issue if you have a high end modular PSU. (my next upgrade I guess)

Its also VERY heavy compared to normal "LAN friendly" cases. Its 17Kgs before you put anything in.
So if you don't carry it around a lot its soooo awesome. It comes with wheels if you just need to move it around 1 room though.

Its super quiet and has more than enough fans for propper air cooling. Also supports liquid cooling if you plan on going all out.
The price might put you off but I saved a few months longer and I don't regret it at all.
 
I enjoy reading all these hardware threads. I am also looking for a case to put my new pc in. I need the cheapest possible case that can take all the latest psu's and have enough space for fans for future upgrades.
I was looking at the Coolermaster cm 690 ii Advanced case for R699 ex vat.
I was also looking at the Sigma Unicone which side panel comes off on a hinge to install the motherboard on with eeze.
The GMC H80 is also great value for money at R599 ex vat with that massive 250mm fan on the side and very customizable.
It is so hard to make you my mind.
 
My case moves around a bit as I do go to LAN's every now and then. The coolermaster cases look pretty cool but most of them are quite expensive and VERY heavy.
 
One of the cases that I saw a while back was the Corsair Carbide 400R. It looks like a really nice case to me.

Cable management is very easy from the power side of things because the power supply sits underneath and you can feed up as much or as little cable length as you need.
If you are not against an unconventional case and don't live in a construction site (open case isn't great in dusty areas) I highly reccomend it.
Some people don't like the look but either way it has great stock temperatures.

No thanx. I know that case and really dislike it. I want a closed case than you very much.
 
LOL I agree with Qrox on the Antec Skeleton, not for me either and with everything so exposed, no thank you. BUT I do guess it's all about different strokes for different folks ;)

I also upgraded about 1.5 weeks ago and went for the HAF X. Absolutely love the case, yes it's very heavy, but I don't do LANs any more so I'm not really bothered about it's weight. Like the others have said, it's super quiet and looks mean, love mine very much :D
 
Coolermaster CM690ii >> comes highly recommended. Got one myself >> lots of space, nice air flow for proper cooling, sufficient space should you want to add radiators for water cooling, filters behind mesh for reduction of dust intake and easy cleaning, easy on the eye, optional windowed side panel. Dude, I can name some more but you get the point. Check it out.
