Microsoft revealed today that PC drivers are now available for the Xbox One controller.

Major Nelson made the announcement, offering direct links to download the PC drivers for the Xbox One controller. "The new PC drivers will enable the Xbox One controller to be used with any game that featured gamepad support for the Xbox 360 controller," Nelson wrote. "Simply download the drivers, connect your Xbox One controller to your computer through a micro USB cable and you’ll be gaming in no time."

While Microsoft confirmed PC compatibility for the Xbox One last year, rumors popped up in March that contradicted that information. However, Microsoft quickly debunked the misinformation earlier this year, and now PC drivers are available for download. Microsoft also plans to release the drivers as part of a Windows update in the near future.

I'm very keen to try out the new controller on PC, but I don't want to hook it up via usb cable, so I'll wait for the proprietary receiver.

Why buy the new one when the old one works just fine.I have a Xbos 360 controller and I use my Ds3 controller on my Pc.

I have a standard XBox 360 controller for my PC, but it's getting a bit old and not pressing as well as it should. I want an upgrade and I think it might be worth the wait for the new one. The new controller has haptic feedback on all trigger buttons, and a MUCH better D-pad. That's why it's worth it to buy the new one.

As for the DS3 on PC, Ughh...
