PC hardware and Gaming specials

Not anyone can buy at esquire... How does one go about buying from them if not registered in a business?

never knew that, must keep them in mind next time I need to buy something online. Thanks for that one

Simon, I'm not saying they are bad but just tread carefully with them. I've heard of people struggling with them. I have not yet had any bad luck. But just be careful.

i have 5000 to spend on a new pc or upgrade. My current specs is as follows for my old rig. 4gig ddr 3 1066 ram, intel dual core 2,9hgh, Ati radeon 5670, some gigabyte mother board. not what it is. I can keep my card till i raise more money, but i want more bang for my buck. Not sure if this is the right thread to ask this tho.

Um.....I can get hold of a couple of Dell Vostro 1014s via work [we bought them for a project which was then cancelled] if anyone here would like to buy one for basic home use [not gaming].

Specs are as follows:

Intel T3300 CPU
2Gb DDR2 800 RAM
250Gb HDD
14 inch display [1366x768]
Windows 7

Interested?

Drop me a pm

I am going to give first preference to people based in East London, as it obviates me having to get myself and the hardware to PostNet to get it shipped....

just wondering if anyone knows where i can get a good price for a mobo and chip. Looking to upgrade, as my old mobo died out on me. All my other components still work and still up to scratch like ddr3 ram 1066 etc. Just want a mobo and cpu. got 2000 to spend on them two. Was thinking Amd socket AM3+, FX-4100 Black Edition - Quad / 4-core, 3.6Ghz and a mobo for like 700? If you guys can suggest even an intel version that fits into this budget setup please let me know.

im not really into amd, i had a look around on various sites plus at our own price list (i work for a IT company) and its all pretty much the same. there is no way your going to get a i5 plus a board normally for R2000, the AMD FX-4100 and the cheapest of the cheap Mobo might just scrape over R2000.

I would take a plunge and get a 3rd gen intel i5 or wait till next year when intel should enter a new tock cycle and bring out Haswell

Are you selling your PC?
Because if you aren't you should try reading the thread title before spamming to get into the comp ;)

i actually wasn't spamming the thread. My mobo blew up and was looking to just replace the mobo but since i was doing an upgrade thought i might just add a cpu in that. Why does everyone think im spamming? damnit. lol

Really Great pricing only problem is they don't accept any other payment except EFT

I'm always cautious of bundled deals like that, they often say something great about it like the CPU or graphics card but seriously skimp on the rest, usually important things like the motherboard. Like with that "Intel I7 3770 Complete Tower", the details say it has a "MSI H61 Chipset Motherboard" without even stating which one though both range from very low end to low end.

Bundles may not be a bad price overall, but usually the ones with some high end component in the name have junk for the rest of the system and I doubt anyone looking to build an i7 3770 machine is going to want a R400/R800 motherboard as the base for such a PC.

Saw a intel i7 950 processor that was cut down R3000 to R1999 on takealot.com

I can't see many people ordering this, unless their old i7 blows up... There aren't any 1366 motherboards available anymore, afaik, so its not going to be useful for a new build, and is also 2 generations old.

Was nice of you to share, though. I'm not getting on your case, just giving a heads up to anyone thinking they can just order this with the latest motherboard.

It's silly the way they keep prices for things like that so high. They aren't made anymore, nor their motherboards, so they may as well just flog them off rather than taking up space in storage. The chance of someone buying them only decreases as time goes by.

Still disappointed that Intel brought out 1366 with so many promises, bells and whistles then dropped it leaving everyone that spent a small fortune on a new system out in the cold.

Intel is doing to well again, AMD needs to come up with a new Athlon to get some competition going again.
