PC Master Racism - is it out of hand?

To be fair it's not exactly the consoles. Well not PS3 anyway. They are games like Heavy Rain and La Noire.

But the games speak for themselves

Rainbow Six
Ghost Recon
Dragon Age
Splinter Cell
Mafia
Operation Flashpoint
Brothers In Arms

I could go on all day.

All those games have long time loyal fans who feel they've been given the finger
 
I think people are missing the point in some instances.

Consoles themselves, as hardware, are not the problem, it is the people making the games. The people behind the games have become either lazy, or have realized it is not always feasible to get it working as best it can on PC (even both). Also a bad port is a bad port not because a console is at fault, like Dungeon Siege III (that game blows regardless).

I agree that games have become overly simplified in many instances, but at the same time that does not mean it is easy. I also agree that complexity is missing from games these days, and once again, that does not make it necessarily hard. Complexity does need to come back but it need not be a PC exclusive idea, once again pointing to the developers / publishers / general gamers as the catalyst. Console games CAN be complex.

Fact is the money is being put into what makes sense for the industry whether it suites a certain demographic or not. While I do not always agree with its sentiments, it is largely democracy (or capitalism) hard at work (which I again do not always agree with).

There certainly are two sides to this and I believe console fanbois are just as foolish, but recently I have been noticing almost an insurgence of blind PC gamers anger directed at consoles which I believe is foolish.

back on topic. my 2cents is Sony/MS keep the dev lazy as they dont bring out newer version of console with better hardware quick anothe. And that make the diff between consoles and pcs so big that they ever do one right or all wrong. I mean 10 years in any tec field is far to long. how far will the pc's be head by the time they decide to bring out new consoles?
 
I am a bit sad that its only graphics that most people keep harping on about.

I want to add to mine i think AI and stuff like that is also held back as there less process power than say new midrange pc. Graphics is just easiest one to spot and compare other one will take bit more time to spot.

Well, Bullfrog made it, Lionhead consists of old Bullfrog employees, so they're not actually far off at all.

And, just to put some ire into the fire of debate, Populous: The Beginning also came out on Playstation :D
