So I'm looking to buy a full HD LCD monitor for my PC that can also work well for my PS3 and Xbox 360 (Gaming). Is this not recommended or something, and if it's alright, what should I be looking for? I'm good with like a 20-24".

I use my Samsung 23" monitor for PC, Xbox and PS3. Works really well just a bit of a hassle to keep changing the inputs. The one I use doesn't have HDMI ports so I have to use a HDMI to DVI cable. Works perfectly though. I think most of the new monitors will have HDMI input and I highly recommend you get one like that.

Definitely get a LCD with HDMI will make it easier.

So basically anything LCD full HD with a HDMI port?

Does not have to be Full HD [I think most LCD's with HDMI start at 20"+] and my understanding is that not many PS3/Xbox games are full 1080p HD. It would make it easier if has a HDMI port then you just get a HDMI cable and run the Xbox/ps3 though that instead of fiddling around with a Component/HDMI to VGA/DVI converter.

I recently bought this samsung 24" for console and pc gaming, its got two HDMI inputs so I can plug in for example a xbox and ps3 and then just select the "source" from my monitor, its a button right next to the power button so its very convenient. No need to swap cables or anything like that.

There was a comment about 1080p, its worth going for the extra resolution, most recently released pc games are full HD and who knows what the next generation of consoles might have in store, I strongly believe they will be 1080p minimum even if they are two years away.

Would this monitor be nice for blu ray movies as well? Trying to cheap out a proper telly, but perhaps I shouldn't.

Get a Samsung BX2450. Thats what I have. And the audio out is quite handy when I want a simple solution for my 360 if I am not home.

The problem is the price of monitors has increased quite a bit in the last month or so. You could almost get a 32" full hd tv for the same price as a 24 monitor.

Definitely, blu ray movies play like a dream - images are sharp with great contrast ratios, refresh rate is also super fast. These are some of the things you need to consider when buying a monitor especially for gaming.

As isengard has said, bigger is better, especially if you want to double it up as a telly. I regret not going for the 27" LCD as they were the same price at the time that I bought mine.

I'll decide still later this month (paycheck). I was originally going to go for the 32" Samsung SmartTV back-lit LED 200hz for R7000, but will see.

What are you doing for sound? Because if you haven't given it any thought, don't forget that TV's usually have speakers (as shit as they may well be) while if you get a PC Monitor, you will usually have to make a lan for sound otherwise. And in this case, you kinda ruin the point of the loverly HDMI cable experience. 1 cable for all your needs is truely a lovely thing.

O yes, I forgot to mention the monitor has a mini jack audio out so you are sorted as long as you have a sound system with a mini jack in or just use regular pc speakers.

Rather go for a cheap 32inch tv its much better and worth it i have a 32inch samsung picture quality is brilliant for both pc and xbox except i mostly run my pc off 2 acer monitors

Go for the 32inch LCD option!!! can get a FHD for 4k. I am currently playing on a 51" Samsung and connecting my laptop on occasions. Tweak the resolution and there is no problem
