PC price shocker

I doubt they will reduce the prices when the rand strengthens again. They are always too quick to increase prices, but when the rand strengthens again they take their sweet time with dropping the prices again.

Lol, they all love taking their time. But hey, as the saying goes, "Make hay whilst the sun shines". Would be nice if things stabilised. Markets are way too sensitive at the moment. The second a currency weakens all hell breaks loose and people go into a blind panic. I mean hell, even with the price hikes I still got some epic deals over this last weekend.

I was eyeing a 2TB HDD at Takealot the past few days. Today it jumped in price by ~R200 :( So much for that idea...

Due to the recent European crazyness that went on the Rand took a dive and the Local Distibutors responded by lifting their ROE to R8.30 some of them and subsequently youll see your prices lifting by in some case more than 10%.

Give it a couple of months youll see prices will drop a lot.

Thx for the advice. I'm gonna start deleting old crap that I really don't need. All the recent HD aquisitions have really chowed my HDD space!!

PC parts I have been eyeing (Motherboard, CPU, RAM and Case) collectively shot up by over R600 since 2 weeks ago.

Well with the shit that went down in Thailand, expect hard drives to go up even more by 20% to 30% on top of the increased prices.

They reckon this will be in effect until Q2 next year.

Wait has the risk that rand might loose more value and like the hdds esquare said in one of there emails this week there is a world wide sortage for hdds
