"PC technology dramatically better than consoles" says Nvidia CEO

Graphics giant knows the art of trolling
Pointless is pointless :p

When consoles goes modular and you are able to upgrade them then maybe one can do a logical comparison. Obviously I can swap out any part of my pc so it's a bit stupid to compare it to my x360 which you can only upgrade the HDD and even that is a limited upgrade. However when consoles goes modular they are nothing more than a pc...

...I hope a few pc peens has been stroked now "knowing" their platform > *

I feel you. I wish I could disable chat in games because it's just racism, hatred and homosexual comments the entire time.

Consoles will never go modular. With respect to major components. They're designed to have a life span of 4-6 years. And the idea of a console is uniform compatibility. If we could suddenly start modding this, that and the other then that creates a whole lot of complications. A lot of PC gamers switch to consoles so they can get away from the varied configurations one may obtain.

Consoles were modular back in the day. you could upgrade your 32 bit system to a 64 bit with a cartridge.

I agree, they will never be modular.

The reasons are:
1) Cost. Modularity is not cheap. Look at modular PSUs. Console makers want rock bottom costs on consoles so that they can sell lots of consoles and thus lots of software (which is where the money is).
2) Development cost. Much simpler for console manufacturers to not have to worry about whether someone's modular console has got a better or a worse GPU or whatever. Thats exactly why developing for PCs is sometimes a headache.

Also, yeah in other news water is wet. Moden PCs are more powerful than 6 year old consoles? Say it aint so.
