right guys I need a no bs assessment of the following options for my upgrade.

I currently have this
CPU: AMD FX-8120
CPU cooler: stock
Mobo: Asus M599X EVO
RAM: 2 x 4Gb Corsair Vengeance ddr3
GPU: PNY Geforce GTX670 2gb
PSU: Corsair tx850
Case: Corsair Carbide white

Monitor: JVC 32" LED tv

Mouse: Logitech G400
Keyboard: Logitech g510
Headset: Logitech g250
Speakers: Logitech X530

current things I am looking at upgrading:
SSD or GPU

the 670 rocks everything except bf4 but that's another story.

my main hdd is a 120gb 7200rpm job so a ssd is looking a mighty fine prospect especially with the prices being down a lot from what they were.

the gpu side I am looking at going for 2 R9 270x's for crossfire but that's mainly due to ONLY bf4 being a bitch about things. so justifying it seems silly

so. no holds barred okes.

let me know which will be the better option

I would sell the 670 and the FX8120.
Then grab a single R9 280X (so if you want to go the CF route om the future you can with a much stronger card) and a FX8320 (The difference between the 2 cpu's are actually pretty extensive)
If you have spare cash then I would def say go for a Samsung 840 Evo 120GB SSD on top of that.

If that doesn't work for you, I would say grab the SSD for now, sell your 670 and buy a single R9 280X.

I'm with @The Joker on this one...

Single 280X and ssd or like you said you willing to go Crossfire 270X's then you might as well look at a single 290 non X cos that's great value for money at the moment. R9 290 4gb vram and 512bit bus rate against 2 x R9 270X 2gb and 256bit...?

There will always be a buyer for your bulldozer.

Heh. Kinda funny how the oppinions on this goes. Posted the same thread over on carbonite and a few other forums aswell. The overwhelming consensus is leave the system as is and get only the ssd. Choices...

well, the common point is to get an SSD. you will notice HUGE improvement, instantly. from bootup right through to normal functioning. Start there and then see if you need to change anything else.

went with the Kingston in the end.

slower than the Samsung but based on reviews and all the info I gathered it seems the best for what I want to use it for so yeah, thanks for the info folks.

Enjoy bud, let me know what you think of the performance increase...Huge difference to load times and system response time.

SSDs are fantastic :) Getting my computer to fully boot in under 13 seconds makes them more than worth their price for me :D

Pics! And some letters
