As one who don't normally create threads, specifically because I assume that you guys have already seen the stuff online... here goes!

I read THIS ARTICLE about this game called Upsilon Circuit this morning.

The fantasy RPG plops specially selected players onto a single server and divides them into two teams of four. This means only eight players will ever be playing Upsilon Circuit at any given moment, and their adventures will likely come to swift, brutal ends. Sounds terrifying, right? Every move you make can literally be your last.

On top of that, the game will have a participatory audience watching live, something nearly as cool as the “one death ever” conceit. Here’s how it works:

“Each Contestant explores the overworld and generated dungeons in search of the Dream Tech Crystals. They fight monsters, avoid traps, and compete with the opposing team.”

“When the Contestant fights monsters or gets treasure, the EXP and other rewards go to the Audience. EXP is used collectively by the Audience to level up the Contestant’s Skill Tree. Simply put, the Audience is part dungeon master, part strategist, and part judge & jury.”
So it’s kind of like a multiplayer fantasy RPG meets Twitch Plays Pokemon (although apparently development on this game started before TPP captured the Internet’s heart in a Pokeball). Sounds complicated, not to mention chaotic. Mixed smartly, however, those flavors go together surprisingly well. Color me cautiously optimistic.

Pretty interesting concept, no?

I have not been following gaming/PC gaming that much lately, so I don't know if there are other like this out there.

It would be pretty interesting to see how this game develops.

P.S. I did this forum to see if there are any posts about this already, to avoid creating duplicate threads.

Sounds interesting. Would be interesting to know more about the audience participation, how decisions will be made for example. Will it just be a voting system with most votes winning?
Can just see someplace like 4chan invading the audience and screwing around with the teams :D

Blazzok, I actually just watched the video.

From what I took from it, the audience also has an interface. And by streaming participation they earn 'coins'. With these coins they can either level up the characters they like or spawn monster for people they don't.

Looks like it will be all up to you to survive based on what they audience does to you.

This would be cool. So you'd need to suck up to the audience in order to get further... I just dont see how they would be able to keep the game going...

Or you could be a total A-Hole and get them to make the game so difficult for you, and then survive for so much longer as what they expected.

That would be much more rewarding for me :D

True, but now if you get a player who doesnt die because of getting upgrades etc? No-one else would get a chance
