PewDiePie and the hate he gets for earning $7 (R87) million

There will always be haters and jealousy out there, and he can handle the critics and negative stuff in a mature manner judging from the video. He seems like a nice guy.

Personally, I can't stand his videos.
 
Ya i even commented on his video, I dont know what the big fuss is all about... He has a job like everyone else, he just happens to be the best at it... And while i personally cant stand him, he HAS to be doing something right to get all those people subscribing...

Much as I want don't want to use AdBlock to support my favourite YTers, ads are kak annoying, but it's one of the ways they make their money. :(
 
Look a lot of people will subscribe and look at his video's because they think x million subs can't be wrong. I do like some of his stuff, but I feel video's like FNM by Force is much better.

YouTube is not an easy place, but do it for fun not money. My hat is off to him and every YouTuber out there trying.
 
I don't hate him for making $7 million plus, I just don't like his style of production.

PewDiePie's success is summed up perfectly in this explanation from RPGCodex:

Be a cool-looking guy with good hair who is handsome in a sexually non-threatening way, but who is also awkward and nerdy and bouncy JUST LIKE YOU. Become your viewers' imaginary best friend from school or cool older brother, who could have gone places and become an adult, but instead stayed loyal to his geeky ways so he could remain friends with you. For female viewers it's a kind of soft crush, for male viewers it's bromance.

It's a business. Some just tend to be ridiculously good at it.

Because 99% of gamers don't get paid for gaming so the 1% who actually use gaming as a way to pay the bills aren't allowed to make money from it either. Personally I think most of the people complaining don't understand anything from the real work except for the part that sits inside the 4 wall of their bedroom.

Granted he made a lot of money, but the guy has costs to make his videos and ad revenue is what he uses to cover that. I'm sure he didn't expect his videos to gather so many views but he hit a niche and they did. Like he said, 90 million views adds up to something.
 
I can understand Pewdiepie getting a lot of views. I have laughed hard at most of his videos and for the most part he is entertaining. What I dont understand is how vanossgaming gets a millions of views for his crap. All he does is run around Gary's mod with his friends and fake laugh at everything.Their laughing is so forced its cringeworthy.
