phone sales

So does anyone else think that some off these telle sales people are extremely rude.

I have had them drop the call in my ear more than once, just a few hours ago some women tried to sell me a laptop with mtn, I told her im not interested then when she persisted i told her in any case i dont like mtn...click

I think from now on before I listen to any of these im going to ask for a name and a company name and a number so if they are rude i can report them, and if you wont give me those details then im not even going to listen

That's your problem right there. When I hear it's a sales call I tell them I'm not interested and put the phone down. That's the only thing that works. If I wanted to buy something I would contact them, I'm not interested in hearing unsolicited sales pitches.

I've never actually had to deal with a rude telle sales person.
I tell them I'm not interested. We arrive at a mutual understanding. Phone call ends.

My missus has been plagued recently by these miscreants and despite telling them off they insist on pushing ahead with their promo. It's like they're incentivised to get a certain time in before you hang up.

Regardless, if I have time, I love to bate and toy with them.

I had a rude telemarketer on the phone the other day. When I told him I wasn't interested and not to call my number again, he said: "No! I will! I will call again!"

I said: "No, you wont!", and then put the phone down.

Sometimes I like having an argument with them though. The oppressed kick downwards and all. It's quite amusing because sometimes I could swear it's the same guy on the other end putting on different accents. One guy held his nose while talking in order to sound like an American! I laughed for hours!

I just put the phone on the table and carry on with whatever im doing, they give their sales pitch into thin air, realise nobodies listening and hang up. One time I randomly broke out into song, I sang Will Smith - MIB. I felt embarassed after though.

You inspired me. I just thought of a brilliant idea (that turns out has all ready been thought of -- typical). This is what I'm going to do the next time one of them phones:

Also never had any rude tele sales people and depending on what they sell I just say I got one already or dont need it then goodbye.

The only sales people I hate are the Israelies in the shopping malls who sell the creams and you have to try walk past them without them noticing you.

I was called once by AIG for Life Insurance or some shit...And this kak was like past 5 in the morning, so I barely remember what I had said.

Am still annoyed to this day that these telemarketers know my damn number. It's sold to 'em, isn't it?

Must be sold to them since I dont have any accounts with my cell number on so not sure where they get it from.

I seem to get it more on the home phone though compared to my cell.

Riigghhttt.....

A database where you have to GIVE your details so they do NOT phone you... seems dodgy.... and I doubt that all call centres have to comply with that. Seems like data mining for a company that probably ends up selling the lists...

Another trick to do with tele sales people... just repeat EVERYTHING they say :)

It is a pretty shyt job so I don't blame them. Imagine how many people are rude to them. :p

ITs true i have been to our call center and these guys get given flak from people they dial and flak from managers for not making targets, no excuse to be rude but sometimes this world just needs a bit more mutual niceness

NO actually its illegal to dial any one on the national DNC(Do not Contact) list and that site adds people to that list

Only if you belong to the DMA... which not all call centres do. (e.g. no Banks belong to the DMA, and they are the bulk of my sales calls...)

You can check on their site, if your details are on their database... I checked and I wasn't, so no need to sign up!

The calls I get are usually timeshares, charities or cellphone companies havent had a bank call me yet so does that database even work to opt out?
