Pillars of Eternity

Considering DA:O was a lot like PoE, I'm going to assume DA:I is the result of dumbing down more than just being 'different'.

The reason doesn't matter, if people enjoy it, let people enjoy instead of coming across elitist.

^ Heaven forbid anyone have an opinion that differs from yours. He didn't say no one should enjoy it, or even that it's a bad game, just that it has been dumbed down.

DA:I is my least favorite DA game because it's a single-player MMO, and who the hell wants that?

If you enjoy it, more power to you.

Maybe people need to rather take a hair dryer to their panties and stop calling others elitist whenever they criticize certain games.

I thought DA:I was dumbed down mediocrity and I'm not going to not say that just because you don't like it when I do.

Lol, ok. Just think there are better ways of criticizing things, dumbed down makes you sound elitist. I'm not saying you have to enjoy it.

By all means, do tell me then. Should I rather say "games that are made for when you don't feel like thinking after a long day's work" or is that elitist too?

People need to get over themselves. Not everyone likes the same things. This ridiculous "political correctness" regarding criticism of games others like is just silly. If you like a game I dislike, what difference does it make when I voice that opinion? Did you suddenly like the game less? My opinion didn't exactly barge into your home and stomp on your Play disc.

It's not about political correctness, it's about just having a little respect for other people who might enjoy those games. Do I need to dumb down this conversation?

Now I don't mean that, but could you atleast see how someone would be a little insulted by that? By calling a game someone enjoys "Dumbed down", you implying they are dumb and like dumb things. You could just say I'm not a fan of action RPGs, and prefer RPGs with more indepth leveling or what ever. Criticism is meant to be constructive, yours was not, hence it came across elitist to me. This really has nothing to do with you not liking something I like, not sure why you brought that up.

I want to play this! I'm enjoying my vacation, but can't wait to get back home and try this game :)

Yeah, I'm also pretty excited. I'm just playing wasteland 2. I will only get it once I finish wasteland, else I doubt I will finish it.

Dont get this game...really, dont get it...unless you want to get lost in an awesome world! Damn, time flies by when playing this, awesome story, exploring is great, combat is nice. Combat, I've always liked the combat part of D&D (yeah yeah, I know its not D&D), having a party with fighters with swords to wizards and the rest. Great game, to me, imho, its just grabbed me by the collar and yanked me back to the late 90's with those great RPGs.

I am soooo excited for Torment: Tides of Numenera!!

Man I love the style...

I'm really enjoying this game so far. Read up on some of the negative reviews on Steam and found them to be scarily accurate, but this game's bad qualities aren't significant enough to detract from the overall experience.

Definitely recommended for anyone interested :) It's worth your time and money!

However, I don't see it sticking as a classic. I guesstimate I have hundreds of hours invested in the BG series by now. Somehow I don't think I'll be giving this a second go. Suppose it depends on how many "endings" there are.

What specifically was accurate?

Ah mostly to do with the combat and class system.

Though, to be fair, the DnD and other pen and paper combat and class systems that we're comparing it with have had way more time to be refined. PoE is just lacks the depth that some people were hoping for. It's not bad, certainly, but there just isn't much to it. It's very simple, but that doesn't mean it's more elegant, and that doesn't work for everybody.

Just got myself this as an early birthday present. :D Haven't played much, but really liking the feel of the game so far. Spent quite a lot of time in the character creator deciding what I want to go with.

Yeah, there is just something to it, makes me wanna play just that few minutes extra...

I'm about 14 hours in now and still really enjoying it as well. The story, characters and world are awesome. It feels like you're playing an epic fantasy novel. Also love how a lot of the quests have multiple outcomes so you can choose how you want to do them. Currently playing with a monk and I find it to be a great starting character since I don't need to worry about weapons or too many spells and stuff. Want to do a second playthrough with a druid eventually.

I am a female wizard. I really prefer it to divinity original sin.

Got some good spells, love the energy staff spell. Reminds me of fairytale.
