Planned Arizona law will make Internet trolling illegal

I was thinking the same thing.

If the law passes we must all find the Arizona governor's Facebook page and troll him to see what he does. Mind you, I suppose 4-chan will be all over that idea already.
 
This sounds similar to anti-cyber bullying laws which I fully support. Of course even if it did pass it would be hard to police, at least in most circumstances.

Freedom of speech is kind of, like, important too.

Well in our country harassment isn't protected speech, not sure about the States but I think it's the same. People kind of twist the meaning of Freedom of Speech to mean "say what I want when I want" but that's not really the intent of the freedom of speech laws.

Harassment and cyber-bullying are one thing, but this law (like almost every other law made by people who don't know the internet) is so broadly worded that one single person who gets offended in your average forum flame-war can decide to make trouble for everyone. I can probably point to quite a couple of threads on this forum (TK included) where the majority of participants would get jailed for what goes on in them. :D

Somehow I think that would hurt myG's bottom line a bit :p

Oh yeah I'm not saying that exact law should be passed, just saying I support the idea in general. That people should be held accountable for what they say online in the same way as if they said those words to your face.
