Since then, DICE has released a statement on Battlelog, informing users not to join any unofficial/hacked servers. Doing so can compromise your EA account and have it banned by EA (meaning you won’t have access to your other EA games, either).

Come on, EA apologists/corporate lapdogs. I dare you to tell me how this is in any way not a dick move. Play on "unofficial" servers, get your ass "End of Line"-d

Don't mind. I am happy with the normal bf 3 :D

But yeah does seem like a total shitty move.

Should include those messing with configs as well ...... just get rid of the lot of them sketchy fuckers so we can enjoy the game.

Dick move but come on, if you wanna play on hacked servers and such, you kinda deserve it, imo

Not just hacked, ANY unofficial servers, so any with mods...

No one hates cheaters more than me, so sure, ban their BF3 accounts, but all Ea games?? 1984 much? Imagine one day you're just playing on a server without knowing it's running some mod/hack? Boom, next day you can't play NFS!

My issue is that these hacked servers appeared on the official battlelog apparently. So how can they take a stance like they are?

Hey, not all hackers are bad .-. Those dumbasses give real problem solving hackers a bad name >.> They are the bootleggers of the underground. I mean seriously 250 people on a server? That is grounds for epic lag and a PK.

Plus they appeared because someone exploited the system making it think it was an EA approved server, which is why EA is having an issue. Well mostly cos they don't have any form of control over them.

Thread title is misleading, this isn't about you playing with some kind of installed mods this is just about you playing on a modded server. The real kicker is that these servers appear normally on the official Battlelog with no way of knowing their status before hand. Sure now it's easy to pick out since 'proper' servers are capped at 32 atm and the modded ones have 128+ players but what happens when release happens and you can legitimately create 128 player servers or the hackers make 32player servers with messed up rules.

Ban the servers and ban people from playing on those servers but don't just ban people for playing on them. This whole excuse of 'we must protect our stats' as a reason to completely remove access from legitimately purchased games is utterly ridiculous and unfortunately it's the same one other platforms like Xbox Live are using.

Even better, picture you purchase Battlefield 4, as you finish entering your product key and registration, download is complete.
Press play, your account has been banned since 2011.

Nice EA... really nice.

So now you could by accident join one of these modded servers STRAIGHT FROM BATTLELOG and get your entire account banned.

Real pro guys, real pro!
