Consoles actually have a fair amount of brilliant games (games that can be bought for a steal if you're just willing to wait), but you wouldn't know because you are clearly blinded by an irrational disdain for the platform.

My PS3 is a gaming machine, my Blu-Ray player and my media center and all that for an overpriced R2500...

Get out of your PC box and see what else is out there instead of just unfairly bashing a platform you clearly have no clue about.

Could not agree more, I PS3 plays games, watches Blu-Ray's, is my main media center for streaming online content like netflix or other on demand services. My Xbox is my main gaming platform as well as my social gaming platform.

I always find myself quietly sighing when I see people who complain about consoles without considering the ample amounts of positive things the availability and ease of use of consoles has done for gaming. It has turned a bunch of basement coders (Id Softworks forexample) into a multi-billion dollar industry. Without Consoles gaming might still be the niche market it was back in the day with all the benefits such as more focused design etc of it but we would also not have the Uncharteds, Skyrims, BioShock, Heavy Rains, Halos or any one of the other massive games we now enjoy simply because without gamings popularity developers would never have been able to secure the funds (we are talking millions of dollars) to develop these epic titles we now enjoy. And while the ignorant may argue that some of the biggest grossing titles of all time, tiles like WoW or other Subscription Based MMOs are on PC without the ever growing popularity of gaming as an entertainment medium these titles simply would have the player bases they have.

People who complain about consoles = people who do not own consoles, or has an old outdated console and games which are not forwards compatible with the newer version of their console.
