PlayStation 4 reviews – the early verdict

Looks like its going to be worth waiting a few months for the various patches to work it's way through.

Don't like the comments about:

- dust
- lightbar painting
- flimsy feel
- fingerprint magnet

You'd think that with a 4th generation product (effectively 6th/7th if you take PS2 and PS3 revisions into account), they would have sorted out these kinds of basics.

- Dust: yeah possibly an issue, not sure its important though.
- Lightbar painting: yeah thats crap, but will have to wait and see if its really an issue.
- Flimsy feel and Fingerprint magnet: not sure why anyone would care, its not like you hold it in your hands while you play. Or even look at it while you play.

So far it is as expected. The system seems to be solid, and I like what I've seen from the interface so far. I am disappointed in the game scores of some of the launch titles. Though I never was that drawn to any of the launch day games, I would have loved to see the next-gen start off with a bang. Will have to probably wait until developers can get a grip on the new systems before seeing spectacular games.
