Playstation Store freeze

G'day

It's been a while....

I started up my PS3 this week, and loaded the Playstation Store to see what is new. All I got was a blue screen and some menu options along the top of the screen. Pressing buttons on my controller elicited no response from my console.

I tried a fix online that involves booting into recovery mode , and rebuilding the system database, then repairing the file system. Nothing doing. I also updated my operating system to the latest available version.

Have any of you had a similar problem? Were you able to solve it, and if so, how?

Thanks.

Mine has also started doing this. Sometimes if I hold in the PS button I get the option to exit it though, but still frustrating. I mostly use the store on my pc, but it's still nice being able to browse from the console. Since the latest update on PS4 I've been getting issues there as well. At least on the PS4 I got option of going back by pressing "O". Dunno if it is maybe ISP related?

Not sure what the problem is but did you try delete the store and redownload it?
Maybe that will fix the issue.

Tried mine on the PS4 just now and at least it's working now, all be it a bit slower than normal. Will try the PS3 again when I get a chance a bit later on.

Unfortunately loaned out my PS3, but on PS4 the store has been [-]very[/-] extremely slow of late. I dunno if this is a DNS or South African issue or what.

Yeah, hope it gets better. At least it loads now, but images load slow and random, or not at all on some pages. I can complete the transaction though. Friends list has been quite fast lately, and trophies syncing way faster than it used to be.

Thank you, I'll give that a shot tonight.

I am not convinced that it is an ISP issue, because I can log into my PSN account and browse the store from my computer.
I don't want to have to boot up my PC every time I want to browse the store though. As a solution, that feels...inelegant to me.

Iv read quite a bit about people having loads of problems since the new update, but thats PS4, not actually sure if the PS3 had an update at the same time?

I actually prefer doing it from my PC, I hardly ever use the Store on my PS3. I can buy stuff and queue my downloads nicely on my PC. When I turn on the PS3, I usually just want to start up a game and get to playing.

I put the question to PlayStation South Africa on their Facebook page.

They don't know either.

Hi Nicholas, unfortunately we are still waiting for feedback from the international PSN team. We understand your frustration and apologise for the inconvenience. We will let you know as soon as we have more information.
