Plus or Gold

Hi Guys
I've been getting setup to play more online titles with my son and the two of us have migrated from Offline Co Op titles like Halo to Destiny (PS3) Recently.

We have PlayStation Plus accounts but tbh all of the games that we have been receiving since last year we either already have or fall into the category of games that I probably won't want to play at all.

We will be playing The Division online once it releases and to enable that I either have to get a second Xbox One or a second PS4 along with either Plus or Gold for whichever platform we decide on

Now my dilemma is this, with the recent price increases in the Plus subscription and the fact that we are not really using the free games on Plus, is it better to go with a second Xbox One, I noticed that the Games for Gold offerings are fall more or less into the same category as the Plus titles, for me at least.

Does anyone know how large the communities are for each?
For example we struggle to fill a third slot on Destiny on PS3 and I don't want that to happen with The Division due to a lack of players if we decide to go with either of the platforms

How big is the catalogue for SA Accounts on Gold?
I have a UK account and the SA accounts never compared in terms of content

Any help, suggestions would be greatly appreciated

As far as I know, there are more xbox 360 users in SA than PS3, but I believe that has switched with the new generation.

Xbox live digital sales are every week and they have a better line up of games on sale at ridiculous low prices.

Xbox games are actually cheaper in most cases, compared to PS4 games.

You have to consider the Pros and cons of both console online markets.
