Podcast! Podcasts everywhere!

Yeah, I use PocketCasts, and I paid for the desktop/browser version as well. I think it was $9 or something like that, and it enables sync between your device and browser!

I wonder how my work will feel about their 4 meg line being used for streaming podcasts....

we have like a 20mbps line but streaming fails if you have to pause it as often as I have to and then I have to start the stream over, so I just download the mp3s now

Mmmmm. Perhaps, as a paying customer, I should petition PocketCasts to do a desktop downloader/player that still syncs progress.

Thankfully streaming audio only podcasts doesn't utilize that much bandwidth, YouTube however does use mega bandwidth. Thankfully bonded ADSL and 100mb fiber in our offices.

We don't believe three generations of Xbox leadership have ever been brought into the same room before to share secrets and stories of Xbox history. Until now. In a once-in-a-lifetime episode, Xbox creator Seamus Blackley, Head of Xbox during the 360 launch Peter Moore, and current Head of Xbox Phil Spencer talk for 90 minutes about all three Xbox consoles, including beating Sony in the living room, where the Duke controller came from, how Gears of War influenced a critical decision for the Xbox 360 hardware, and so much more!

Podcast Unlocked 201: Xbox Bosses Past and Present Share Stories, Secrets

this was a great one, definately worth a listen

Really enjoying Harmontown, thanks Avatar!

I'm glad you're liking it!

I've really gotten to enjoy Polygon Minimap lately, 10-15 minute news updates about gaming is the perfect bite size, and they had a pretty moving homage to Satoru Iwata, with clips of (and links to) an inspiring speech he gave about his role in the gaming industry as a gamer at GDC a couple of years ago.

Will def look into it

Life skills / self-improvement:
The School of Greatness with Lewis Howes
The Art of Charm
The Charged Life with Brendon Buchard
The Art of Manliness
The Tim Ferris Show

Health/fitness:
The Primal Blueprint
Move Smart Podcast
Barbell Shrugged
Total Human Optimization
Physique Science Radio
Bulletproof Radio
Evidence Radio

My top two for any day are definitely The School of Greatness and the Art of Charm. The hosts have their show really polished and the content is always fantastic to listen to even if you aren't all that interested in it.

About Harmontown: at one point, Dan Harmon starts rapping (no, really.) at regular intervals. Most of the time it's pretty funny. Some times it's hilarious. Eventually, it gets reaaaaaaaally worn out.. Stick through it, about 5 episodes after everyone gets over it, he stops for a long time, and then only started up again recently, maybe one or two raps every 3 or 4 eps. It's bite sized now.

Dan started rapping :(

Man i love podcast. Seems like i listen to most of the things you guys do. Roosterteeth/The patch are the main ones i listen to religiously. Nerdist is also awesome, but the patch has meg turney

Time for a resurrection!

With my last post in this thread, I was listening to:

Harmontown,
The Indoor Kids,
Still Untitled: The Adam Savage Project,
The Nerdist,
Polygon Minimap, and
WTF with Marc Maron

Since then, The Indoor Kids had gone on hiatus, as Kumail is busy starring in Silicon Valley, and Emily is busy producing a movie or huge television show or something like that. I can't remember exactly what it was.
Also, Minimap just abruptly stopped in March, without news or notice, and it still hurts.
And finally, I kind of stopped listening to WTF. I still grab the episodes with the more interesting guests, but for the most part I can't be bothered to do research on who the guest is before listening, so if I don't recognize a name, I'll skip it.

So I've lost a few podcasts, but I found some too! Well, one.

I've added The Thrilling Adventure Hour: It's an old time radio play style comedy show, recorded live, with regular actors like Paget Brewster (from Criminal Minds, Community, Grandfathered), Paul F. Tompkins (Bojack Horseman, Mr. Show), Mark Evan Jackson (Brooklyn Nine-Nine, Parks and Rec), John DiMaggio (Freakin' Bender from Futurama) and a whole host of other famous people, and hundreds of well known guests. The show has a couple of long running regular segments, like Sparks Nevada, Marshall on Mars, a western themed story of the Marshall on newly colonized Mars, keeping law and order, or my favourite, Beyond Belief, where Frank and Sadie Doyle, two upper crust aristocrats in New York, who happen to be mediums, solve mysteries; most often the mystery of where the next drink will come from. Unfortunately, the show has since stopped running, but there is about a five year backlog to work through, and a "new" episode appeared on my device just this week, so maybe they're still publishing old recordings.

So, to make up for my lack of gaming news in my podcast universe, can someone recommend a short news cast, preferably daily, that just gives the biggest headlines in the gaming world?
