Pokemon Alpha Sapphire Boring (3ds)

I couldn't find a thread like this anywhere so I wanted to start one. I recently bought Pokemon Alpha Sapphire for the 3ds and I found it extremely boring, I am quite new to Pokemon games, but have been watching the anime for some time. I was hoping some Pokemon fans could help me out. I find the battles really easy and I hate having to sit through every animation it's so boring. My pokemon Mudkip is just too op, and I couldn't find a worthy challenge.
