If this is not allowed, then sorry, but since this is my newly found hobby I am going to shamelessly advertise this event
I only found out about this card game at UPCON 2013 and I would of heard of it much earlier if it was perhaps here on the forum 
So as I have mentioned it is the pre-release for the new Pokemon cards set entitled plasma blast. Pokemon is very much like Magic the Gathering in terms of a card game. If you at any stage played Magic and enjoyed it (or partially enjoyed it) then the chances are that you might enjoy this game. There is also an online version of the pokemon trading card game: http://www.pokemontcg.com/ (You get free cards when you install it). You also get additional cards in the online game with any cards that you purchase from a shop. I must warn you that this might become a costly hobby (about R200 a week, since you just have that urge to get more cards ).
Now back to the event:
The event is hosted by Pretoria Pokemon League. More detail about the specific tournament can be found here: http://pretoriapokemonleague.com/
The event is hosted in Pretoria on the 2nd of August 2013 at 17:00 in the afternoon. (I know there is also a Cape Town event and I am sure AnimeWorx will also be hosting a pre-release). The reason I am advertising this now is that at the pre-release EVERYONE gets 8 booster packs and they have to build a deck with those 8 booster packs. This puts everyone on equal footing (which I really enjoyed at my first pre-release).
Pretoria Pokemon League also has weekly league nights (Fridays at 17:00 - 20:30) in Garsfontein. If you perhaps just want to try the game you are more than welcome to come on a Friday. A deck of cards can be provided for you to play with if you just want to learn more about the game.
Important Note: Anyone from Mygaming who actually attends the prerelease (in Pretoria). I will personally ensure that you get an additional tin (to hold your cards) and if you perhaps hated the game afterwards I might be willing to buy most of the cards you used for the tournament back from you (Since it is a new set I also need to personally collect all the cards from this set).
