Police on bridges over highways...

Has anyone else notice that there has been at least 1 police vehicle parked on the bridges overlooking the highway?

Iv driven passed a lot this weekend... Anyone have any idea why? They were on all the bridges between Rivonia and 14th ave... And on one bridge that i went across that goes over the N14...

Very strange behaviour if you ask me... :wtf:
 
I saw it as well but i was cycling at Groenkloof. It was to be expected to see police on Saturday around the area , not to mention the helicopter flying low as well that was cool to see.

You both must surely be correct... Sorry i didnt even think about that... But I do wonder why on the bridges?
 
well one thing is for sure we all going to look at who is stopped at highway bridges now ><
 
But what are they gonna do from up there, throw stones at the bad guys chasing the MPs down the freeway?
 
Saw the idiots parked on a bridge in Centurion yesterday blocking the one entire lane. The two policemen were standing with their backs against their car and their legs stretched against the side railing having a nice smoke while completely screwing up the traffic.

Also noticed they standing on every bridge on the N1 from Pretoria to Rivonia. They were standing there since Wednesday / Thursday. However, last night at around 7, they were all gone. So guess they're done now.
 
I think there's may be a "when pigs fly" joke hidden in this thread somewhere. I'll leave it as an exercise for the reader to find it.
 
Its so that the VIPs in the blue light brigades can marvel at how well they are running the country.

I prefer the cops sitting at the on-ramps...there they could at least plausibly intervene fast if something were to happen on the highway.

The bridge that I was referring to has no on or off-ramps. It simply crosses the highway. So no, not going to help them to respond fast.

They were on all the bridges, on ramps or not, I just thought it was so strange... Apparently they did the dame thing when Obama was here, it was just a campaign to make the police seem more visible...
