I'm super curious to see how many South Africans actually bought a Nintendo 3DS. I'd also like to know WHY you don't have one or why you're not planning to get one (if you don't already have a 3DS).

I'm one of those 'beautiful mind' kind of people ;)

Please leave a comment if you want to elaborate your answer!

No, I don't. I bought a DS Lite and did not enjoy it as much as I had hoped for. Also I'm not a big fan of everything '3D'.

Next I'll give the Vita a try.

I have the ability to play games at home, at work, on my phone and on my tablet. Wouldn't need to purchase another gaming platform.

No, when I was little I tried the normal nintendo gameboy and that is where my dislike of handheld gaming devices originated.

Ok - a lot of people say they don't like handhelds... Any specific reason why not? Screen Size? Battery life? Scared of looking like a fool in public?

When I go out it's either for drink with mates or I need to buy something, I don't have time to game while out ;).
And why play a handheld at home when you have a perfectly good console?

That's how I view it :).

I bought a PSP way back and was disappointed. System was cool but I realised I wasn't a big fan of the Sony games. I preferred Nintendo's franchises and the Professor Layton series. Also I dug the concept and creative use of dual screen gaming. Its too early to say which will do better 3DS or PSV, because when the PSV launches, the 3DS will by then, have a very strong lineup itself. I'm sure there's a place for both handhelds.

Also, I play at home when TV is occupied or when away from home.

Its just a gimmick!

Not worth it in my opinion. If you want a handheld just get the DS.

To get the 3d to display you need to sit at the perfect angle.
And after about 40min you will just end up switching the 3d off

No, I don’t see the need for a portable handheld.

I have two phat PSP's (lol). One was imported from Lik-Sang at the time (just before they closed shop) and it runs custom firmware (really the only way to enjoy the device was with homebrew, how I do wish they could allow it but at the same time prevent piracy - kinda like a "chicken's tooth"). The other (different tactile feel to the buttons and "nub" but slightly brighter) runs the newest firmware, which is the newest when I actually play with it.

All my free time (and it's generally rather too limited) is devoted to my PC and my PS3 and if I'm really stuck (like being away from home or having to do the required household tasks) then my cell or laptop more than happily help out.

No, because I just dont see the need. I'd get pissed off carrying it around (its bad enough with a cellphone), and I wouldn't play it at home because I'd rather use my console for some real games.

Yes cause I always play nintendo pokemon games and I am waiting for the 3d version to come out before I purchase it.

Could not find a option to vote for though.

I use it when on holiday where theres nothing else to do.

but in reality its cuz it hurts my eyes hahaha not a fan of 3d.. used to own an NDS lite

@Ichigo - You should mark the "Yes I bought one as soon as possible!" option! What games do you currently have for the 3DS?

@Anon815 - Did you enjoy your NDS? You know you can switch off the 3D effects on a Nintendo 3DS?
