I am curious as to the leanings of the mygaming members. I get the impression that PC gamers are the vast majority here. My personal preference is the XBOX, but hey, whatever floats your boat :-)

where did you buy this "Outside" console? Or is it DLC available on existing console ?

I can't vote since I don't have a favourite pick and use all 3 devices I have when I game to which ever title I have on them; I game for the sake of gaming :o

why cant we select more than 1 option.... LOL

I voted PS3 yet im playing gears 3 on xbox but when my gold live expires I might not buy another subscription, I dont care which service is better but with PSN been free its still a factor for me

PC all the way. Games, skype and everything else I could ever want online at the same place and at the same time (I have a horrible habit of filling Firefox with tabs)

I do have a PS3 too, but I haven't used it very much.

in order to crystallize your number 1 platform. I own all 3 consoles, but my xbox is still my first choice. Of course I've got Uncharted 3 on pre-order, but if I'm faced with a multi-platform title, I always choose xbox version.

I used to be an avid PC gamer, but then I got lured to the dark side. Sitting on the sofa in front of a nice big TV screen with a comfy xbox controller in hand and able to pop disc in and start playing without worrying about drivers and configs and conflicts.... :-)

i spend the entire day in front of my computer. Why would I want to continue this mouse/keyboard torture after hours ?

Hiro thats EXACTLY the reason I never pursued gaming on PC

I love vlekking on the couch pop disc in and you good to go

not to mention the cost of gaming hardware. Sure the PC games are cheap, but a basic rig costs about 10 grand. double that if you want something decent and triple if you want a kick ass setup.

I was also driven mad by the graphical differences based on hardware. So if my game looked lousy, i was never sure whether it was due to the game itself, or my average graphics card. with a console, you know that you are playing the same game as everyone else

Heh, well, I'm quite fond of my keyboard and mouse and I've always hated the Xbox controller. I've really tried to get used to it, but it gets so uncomfortable for me in no time. Maybe something is wrong with me? Everybody else seem to love it.

Anyway, I love my PC and that's unlikely to change :D

it looks odd at first, with those asymmetrical thumbsticks. but once you get the hang of it, there is no better controller. PS3 feels too light and flimsy

I also own al three platforms (at least until my PS3 gave out last night) But I have always been an avid PC gamer. Also, having only 1 HD TV is difficult to negoatiate when the wife wants to watch "So you Think you can dance as good as a Private Anatomy wife".

But in order of preference:

PC
PS3
XBox
PSP

PC is what I own so it is what I play. Love it.
Used to have a PS2 - sold it as I didn't really like it much
Used to have a PSP - sold that and still regret it

I don't find hardware to be too expensive. Sure, it's more expensive than consoles, but a PC is for many other things than just gaming too.
I did spend the equivalent of R12k on my rig some 3-4 years ago, but I could have gotten it way cheaper and probably better, if I'd known more about the hardware and built it myself as well.
Being interested in hardware helps a lot and luckily I'm interested. I love my hardware  Even if it isn't top of the line.

If you're just interested in quick gaming and nothing else, I understand why you'd choose a console over a PC.

That's easy to fall for with certain games, yeah. Had huuge problems optimising Gothic 3 for best visual/performance balance.
In the end I just said **** that and played on some standard settings and I haven't really been bugged with it since.

It requires a bit of self-control sometimes :p

Also have all three platforms but I prefer PS3 because of free online, couch gaming and great exclusives.

PS3 for me.

I once owned an xbox...sold it all and changed to PS3. Then last month I bought an Xbox again with some extra cash lying around so I too can own both. But sold the Xbox again 48 hours later. Xbox just would not compare. So PS3 for me. Nothing will ever change that.
