Pre-owned games market good for the industry - UK retailer

I must agree, especially for the youngsters that can't always afford the prices of new games, 2nd hand is a good alternative.
 
A certain gaming store is doing this for some time now. Good idea for new console games that's so expensive.
 
I mostly buy pre-owned games, if they are in a good condition, of course (I have had a few incidents in the past). It certainly does help when you are on a tight budget. You give a new game a few weeks and you get it half price. Best idea ever. Also, the ranges of games available on PS3 and Xbox 360 (even Wii these days) are quite vast and there are some gems hidden in the bargain bin.
 
Agree as well, especially the whole trade in market. If you manage to pick up a new release brand new or pre-played you still going to get the same value when trading it in form the store....regardless if you paid R599 or R350. I try to pick up pre-played titles for that reason.
 
Buying games 2nd hand is always the best resort for me unless I really can't wait for a game to be released. Xbox games are unfortunately the more expensive games around these days so I need to use my money wisely if I want to get the most bang for my buck.
 
I find it hard to sell certain newer PC games.
They all need to be registered or activated online and then nobody else can use that key except you.
And I don't want to give my steam or EA account details to any stranger out there.

Any comments on this?

Ouch...that is a tough one. Have you tried reading up on the publisher's support pages about deregistration? There might be something useful there. They might be reluctant to help you out, because that is one less sale for them, but I am sure that they might help you somwhow.
