I just started playing Prey - bought it for R79 from BT Games... figured id give it a try.

Loaded the key into steam and downloaded the steam version instead.. I am a steam nut. I hated it back in dialup days (Decrypting Half Life 2 in 2004 during the day.. Telkom nailed me hard on that on) but now really loving it.

Anyway...

What did you guys think of the game? Anyone here play it? Without giving away too much of the details.. what was your vague impression?

I thought in the opening scenes it was rather perfect playin Blue Oyster Cult Lyrics, (Don't Fear) The Reaper.

I am currently on the level titled "Sacrifices".

I am mildly entertained at the moment.
 
Got bored halfway through, the story just couldn't keep me entertained. Physics was nice for the time...

I played it on the Xbox...enjoyed it...didn't finish it though...
 
One of my fav sci-fi games. A must if you enjoy something different. Oh and it had a track from judas priest called Living after midnight(if I recall.) And it had cool boss fights. I really wish they make a new one though.
 
Same as mr Fenix. I really dug the first playing areas, the awesome jukebox music and the abduction. But It got stale about 2-3 hours in, so I never bothered to finish it.
 
I loved the game. Finished it on the PC twice & xbox 3 times. I can't wait for the second one to come out.
 
I was quite far into it twice, once on the PC then lightning took out my PC, then I got it for the 360 and was almost there when my Xbox was stolen.

Prey Received Mediocre reviews and sales. As a Result 3D Realms, the publisher, soon went bust and MachineHead, the dev, haven't been heard of since. There was a rumor of prey 2 but like DNF is just a rumor. Remember that Prey it self was in Development hell for quiet a few years.

Yeah, it's been in development since the 90's if I remember correctly. I assumed there would not be a sequel due to the lack of sales the game generated, that's why I'm confused by people talking like a sequel was announced. :/
 
Maybe its a cult classic type deal. Where the fans want a sequel so badly they imagine its in development. :confused:
