Prince of Persia vs Assassin's Creed

Hi Guys,

So I just got myself the PoP Trilogy set and I must say that I am VERY pleased I got it! I have never played a PoP game before and am loving now :D I loved them so much I went out and bought PoP: 2008 and The Forgotten Sands

But While playing through it I couldn't help buy notice that AC has copied A LOT from PoP. I would say that almost all of the Prince's acrobatic moves are close on identical to that of AC. Except for the wall running of course ;).

I must say that I prefer AC as a whole more to PoP (Notably the story, fighting and the free roaming) but I must say that I feel that everything else feels more exciting and action packed. I have fallen in love this with series in a matter of hours :D! What a buy! I am so happy I got them!

What are your thought on the two?

I loved the PoP trilogy and played it before I did Assassin's Creed. And then I enjoyed the first Assassin's Creed too.

PoP will always be my favourite but probably only because I played it first. I definitely want to get hold of Assassin's Creed 2 and then later the newer one plus PoP The Forgotten Sands. Oh yeah and I thought PoP 2008 was good but not near the class of the other games.

I dont think you can really compare the two. Both Awesome titles but both in their own right.

Man, I remember when Sands of Time came out - it totally reinvented the platforming genre, at least in the mainstream.

Aren't they by the same developers ? There is a lot of crossover tech so there is definately similarities. Personally I prefer AC

Prince of Persia set the tone, Assassin's Creed used it relentlessly but the question of whether it used it better is debatable because the two games are very different from each other. You could say PoP is the better game because it invented the formula and deserves credit for that...

Well it makes sence that PoP and AC are similar, considering the're both by the same development team. But for me, Prince of Persia is my favorite of the two series, probably just because Prince Of Persia (the '89 one) was the very 1st video game I've ever played.

Assassins Creed is by far a more sophisticated and more thoughroghly developed game, yes, but it doesn't have same "something special", for lack of a better phrase, that PoP has.

My thoughts exactly!

The Prince said:
"Most people think time is like a river that flows swift and sure in one direction. But I have seen the face of time, and I can tell you: they are wrong. Time is an ocean in a storm. You may wonder who I am or why I say this. Sit down and I will tell you a tale like none you have ever heard."

That's why! ("Something Special"?)
