Problems at MyGaming?

MetalSoup

There's a GIF for that
Is it true that Tarryn was let go due to budget cuts? That's kind of disappointing if that really happened, her articles are really funny and thought provoking. Was anyone else also affected?

Tarryn, like me, is a freelancer. She's likely referring to her main job.

Last I checked she had a column of some sort at the last page in the nag magazine... And she wrote reviews for nag.

Actually, for the last few months, my job at MyGaming has pretty much been... well, my job. It's true that I technically work freelance, but it's been a full-time thing. I do still write for NAG, but that's very much a part time extra.

I don't want to go into it, but basically restructuring and stuff over at HQ in Joburg means less budget allocation for freelancers. It's just how it is, really. I'm still writing for MyGaming in the meantime, but I'm now shopping my CV out to other prospective employers.

I hope you find something soon azi. Best of luck :)

Sorry to hear it best of luck :) a girl with you're skills should get a job quick. :D

Unfortunately jobs aren't freely available in South Africa, even for the very skilled lot.. Sad, but true. Best of luck! Just keep going that CV around :)

Noooooo... This sucks.
Nobody else can properly tell us that everything is going to hell and still make us look forward to the event (or at least make us smile about it). Isn't there something we can do or one of those sponsored ads we can click on?... I'll even watch that annoying Webafrica video ad with the talking Tutu puppet again if it will help.

Will everything just stop or will you at least still write on here from time to time?

That means that one of the actual staff members would need to start writing funny articles, or I'm gone :D

I think there is a miscommunication here. Resolution shall be swift. This is what happens when I go on leave...

Oh noes! I do hope that it was because of miscommunication. I like her articles a lot!

May this be resolved quickly and may we expect lots of stories from Azimuth.

*edit*

I also hope that everything is fine at MyGaming. I do not get much time to post these days but it remains my favourite site and I'm here every day.

Hi everyone.

Now that I'm back at work I can comment on what has happened here.

MyGaming isn't in any trouble at all. The site is doing well and continues to grow.

We have full-time staff to consider and plans for 2013 - along with this comes budget planning. Unfortunately we are reducing our allocation for freelancers.

This isn't a reflection on Tarryn's contributions and quality of her work - we hold her in the highest regard and always will.

I only read articles with Tarryn's awesomely weird and humorous writing in them.
I am not saying the other guys aren't doing a great Job, I just prefer her writing style.
