Problems with Steam

I haven't been able to connect to steam for this whole week and I've had problems connecting before. I'm currently on an Mweb Uncapped Shaped account.

Anyone else having problems with Steam in general or specifically using an mweb uncapped account?
 
when launching it just leave it for 20min and if it still doesn't connect. Call mweb and tell them they are a bunch of yobs. Ive had this issue before especially during the day, seems fine at night though.
 
Mappy you on steam at the moment?
For the 1st time in my life i just got a message stating that steam is down...Mmmm
 
My mate has the same problem with Mweb. It takes him about 5 minutes to connect....

I noticed I have also been having troubles with steam recently as well. I am on Afrihost. I think steam has its issues as well....

Try getting a 1 gig prepaid(from another ISP) and see if you have the same problem.
 
Ye I leave it going the whole day, it just keeps kicking me back to the login screen. :( Rather annoying since it doesn't even give me the option to go offline.
 
could try this.

go to the steam directory and look for your registry.blob (think that's it's name) delete it. and try again, it will now redownload a few things. no proxy set in your IE ?

I had the connection problem a week ago, this method fixed it for me so give it a try.
 
rats. i also get very lagged steam now for some odd reason. deleted the registry.blob and it's updating at snails pace :(
