Slightly Mad Studios has confirmed Project CARS has been delayed to April 2 in Europe and North America.
The racing game, previously due in March, has had a development plagued with delays after originally being listed for release last year. The date we've received today refers to the PS4, Xbox One and PC versions of the game; there's still no news on the Wii U edition beyond a vague 2015.
“Moving a release date was not an easy decision to make, as we know our fans are eager to get their hands-on on Project CARS,†studio head Ian Bell. “But we know that these extra days will allow us to provide the best game experience that our fans deserve. We assure you the wait will be worth it when the game does arrive early April.â€
The company has argued it moved the release date in the past in order to avoid "the competitive holiday scene dominated by household names."
In our preview last year, we thought that, in the absence of Gran Turismo and Forza this year, the time was right for Project Cars to make its mark.
