Was about to say that I imagine TM has some sort of PC driver and calibration tool that needs to be run first.

It mentions running the "Thrustmaster Calibration Tool" (which I imagine is the equal of the Logitech Profiler tool). Not 100% sure if that is automatically included in the download though. Alternatively I imagine you can do a base calibration through Windows first then use the in-game settings to fine tune it.

Does seem odd though that it was working in PCars initially and then not. Unless maybe in between a new patch or update changed things??
 
Yea that is all I can think of, but as far as I know there was no update, I have the latest drivers for the wheel, and its just in pcars that its an issue. And I have searched all over for a setup without the FFB stuff since my wheel doesnt have that. I will download their calibration tool and see what it does. Because the ingame calibration seems weird in anycase - when I do it, some times the pedals register both, other times just the throttle. And with the wheel it self its just weird that I have such a big deadzone.

Be happy your wheel has no force feed back because project cars has serious problems with there FFB systems.I have a buddy who has a 6 grand wheel and he has major problems,he would be half way in a race and it would stop working and the only way he can get it to work is by closing his project cars and restarting his ps4.

Yea i have seen all the moans and groans about it. At least now mine is working great, will race a bit this weekend social life allowing.
 
I have to say, did my first Formula Rookie race this weekend. Practice went well, qualifying as well, the first race I ended up first starting second. The second race I started 7th and came 5th. The AI in this game is vicious! I had to restart the race 6 times to get thru the first corner! I was rolled so many times it was not funny.

I am loving it, it is so much fun. It is also fun to watch my dad struggle because he is moaning about the lack of force feedback. Where I have adjusted to it easily since I am not a fan of FFB.

We'll be rolling out the next PC patch today. Here is the list of changes.


Project CARS – PC Patch 9.0 – Release Notes

Vehicles
• Aston Martin GTE - adjusted the AI suspension damper rates down to better handle curbs
• BMW 2002 SW - Adjusted default setup for better drivability. Adjusted optimum temperatures and heating to move the optimum running temp closer to 180F. Adjusted cockpit camera position.
• BMW 1M SW - Changed transmission to sequential, paddle shift to match the 3D model
• BMW 2002 Turbo - Speed adjustments for player and AI for better match in the Vintage racing class.
• Formula Renault 3.5 - Raised collision mesh and adjusted default setup for better curb behaviour. Adjusted various other setup items to make player drivability better. Upped tire temperature build-up to get the tires more in the optimum range to use more of the intended grip with the default tire pressures and setup.
• Ford Escort, Mercedes 300SEL - Balanced the speeds better against the new BMW Stance Works car for the same class. Slight improvements in available grip through moving them into better optimum heat/grip range. AI speeds changed to match.
• McLaren F1 GTR - Fixed an issue where parts of the car would clip through other parts when damaged.

Tracks
• Road America - New race line and corridor tweaking. The main goal was to keep the AI off the curbs so heavily, as with the massive alligator teeth here cause the stiffer car fits and lifting off the throttle.
• Silverstone Classic – Fixed an issue that caused the game to dramatically slow down and at times crash during pitting in a multiplayer race.

Tires
• Reworked some vintage tires to get a better average temperatures increase, resolve severe flat spotting, localized overheating and too-easy punctures which were being reported.

Audio
• Ford Falcon – Reworked the vehicle sounds to a closer match of the real car.

UDP
• UDP - fix for PC joypad and steering wheel buttons not registering.
