PS TV competition: Should Solitude keep the prize?

Should Solitude get to claim his PlayStation TV prize so he can give it to BeoTeK?

people enter because it's free stuff, it's human nature to want something for nothing. If they win and keep it good for them, if they sell it or give it away, whatever. The point is Solitude won fair and square. He should be the one to decide what happens to it. We were all involuntary entered into the prize simply by participating on the forums/community. I don't need it, but it would a nice to have. Same as Wyvern didn't need her headset as she had one (albeit now she has a better one).

Guess I am the only one who enters for an upgrade or something I may need in the future.

The point I'm trying to make is that it was a activity related competition, so regardless of how one felt you have been entered. If you didn't make the top 25 cut, then I'm sorry.

I guess it is one flaw with the system where some people don't voluntarily sit out when they don't need anything
 
He already declined the prize. The fact that Jan screwed up and included him anyway doesn't give him the right to change his mind afterwards imho.

Will this be allowed in the future? You're effectively opening the floodgates and possibly allowing someone in the future to use this situation to base their argument around.

I really don't care though by all means Soli you can have it.

/Wonders what on earth happened to the dude that won that shiny new gfx card...

It also shows a lot about how loyal and interested he actually is in the site that he can beat people who are artificially posting to win a prize. I'd rather the prize go to someone who is dedicated to the site than someone who only wants to prostitute mygaming and it's staff for their own benefit.

Give him the prize I say, it's going to one of the most deserving members of the site (and I don't mind the indirect recipient either)

Which is fair. :) Though I only declined the prize because I was being nice. Unfortunately an item of mine broke this weekend and BeoTeK was being nice to me by giving me a console at an excellent price. I know he wanted the prize so I thought, maybe I should try my luck. It's not the nicest thing to do from my side since people who now had an extra chance to win the prize have been robbed of it. But I know it will go to someone who will appreciate it and I can give it to him as not only a way to say thanks but to make the price more fair.

So I'm being a dick for a reason. Like Batman.

Thanks Edelweiss. And in the future things like this won't happen because it's basically just Wyvern and I that normally exclude ourselves from competitions. And I learned now not to exclude myself from future competitions. In the future I will enter everything like everyone else but if I win and don't want it then I can just give it to someone else. Which will stop things from this like happening.
 
So I've had a bit of a think about this; Solitude excluded himself from the competition, but for the Grand Poohbah to maintain any of the people excluding themselves from the competition is going to end up in a logistical nightmare. So let the person that gets randomly selected win the prize and get the option to forego the prize if they so feel inclined. Now, both that happened in this situation, but before any redraw could be done the winner decided to keep his prize. Surely they are entitled to the prize, as they were RANDOMLY SELECTED. There have been many situations that people forego awesome prizes because of various reasons. It happens and will continue to do so in the future. So Solitude is 100% within his rights to do this. Glad to see this thread though so that the community can comment on this as well.
 
If it's any consolation; if I win a prize in future I have Jan do a redraw, but only if I win it again. ;)
 
Knowing both of them especially Beo (such an awesome guy and story of his life) I vote give it to Sol because you lot fucked up :)

Haha thanks [MENTION=297]FarligOpptreden[/MENTION] but I have had fights with people on here before. Plus what I'm doing is a jerk move. So it's completely understandable. :)

In your defense, you made the move before a redraw actually commenced. There was only an announcement and most have voted in favour of you claiming the prize.

If I get neg-repped for siding with you, I'll live with it.
