PS Vita... Worth getting or not?

Will it be worth my while to get a PS vita on a data bundel or not?

I now there's a lot of reviews out there, but I don't want to do all the research...

Bundel is 2gig data and PS Vita for R290 a month.
 
Depends on what your needs are? Are you going to be browsing a lot? Using the facebook, flickr and youtube(when it gets released) apps?
 
I personally feel that a dedicated mobile device for gaming is a waste, especially considering the price of the vita.
 
gonna browse when not at my laptop, games when I am away or on a flight.

Need data for my iPad as well so gonna swop between the 2.

I know Vita takes normal SIM and iPad micro, so will use a micro sim to sim adaptor.
 
Then it would probably suite your needs.

I however would get the 3g version from kalahari.net and use the 8ta 10GB data bundle. That would be sweet :D

wait 1 second, I did the math. It would cost you R7200 for the length of the contract.

3G version at Kalahari is R3300. so you are paying R3900/24 = R162.50 per month for your 2GB of data. It's a bit on the expensive side, but I can understand if you don't want to fork out all the cash at once.

I think you are too late. . . . .he is gone. and I agree it is a bit pricey IMO.
 
Did the maths as well.
I signed a mygig 1.2 in Feb '10. It was for 329 a month!
Price came down to R 269 and the contract expired end of last month.
The R270 is in my budget, and for R 20 more i get the Vita.
 
If you have a Xbox 360/PS3 definitely not. It costs a bit less than those consoles (which is a high price for a portable gaming console) and I know one of the primary complaints of the PSP was that it had a lot of games that were originally on PS2 and the exact same is happening right now with The Vita. Look at the games it has or is going to get:
Marvel vs Capcom 3
Mortal Kombat
FIFA
and there are some more. If you really want it, I suggest you wait for the price to lower unless you're super rich
 
It's such an expensive piece of equipment.

I went and got myself a Nintendo 3DS the other day for R1800 and replaced my stolen PSP for R1400... Which together still costs less than a PS Vita.

In my opinion, I want the PSP for the Playstation Network stuff it offers, like old PSOne games and other indie games. For these, you don't need a PS Vita. As for HD and fancy graphics, I'll use my PS3 or PC.
 
I dont know, in my opinion I would never buy one, I had the first psp and played it every so often, and this with the fact that I had long bus trips and doing nothing (thanks boarding school).

But ever since i got an iphone/ipod touch, the amount of games for the things is huge, from dead space series to racing and zombie games youre sorted, and it doubles as a ipod, web browser and you can have other apps which can be useful!
