PS Vita... Worth getting or not?

I pre-ordered mine and up to this date have played 2 games on it. For the vast majority of the time it has been sitting on my desk untouched.

Having said that, I am sure there will be some pretty good games on it eventually (that appeal to me) and don't really regret buying one.

I used to be on the Gautrain everyday, that PS Vita kept me sane. I must admit, there aren't as many games out there as I would like there to be, but I hope that will change over time. Every now and then you get that one game that will just make the Vita worth it, like Gravity Rush.

Even when I went to Cape Town the other day, it made the plane trip quick and short.
Def worth looking into if you are travelling a lot.

As much as the DS is cheaper (And it has Kingdom Hearts which is made of so much WIN), something of the Vita just appeals to me more than the DS.

I have had 2, the first one got stollen. I take mine everywhere. when i dont have any work i use the remote play to watch series or movies from my PS3 that is networked to my computer.

i personally dont see the point with the vita. seems like you spend alot when you can just get a normal psp instead.
sure the vita has the extra features like touch screen etc but just seems unnecessary

I had a PSP, it was a nice dust gatherer. Sold it a while back and got a Vita and was amazed about how much better gaming felt to me on the Vita than on the PSP. Games like Uncharted, Gravity Rush, MK9, Rayman, Fifa all felt like they belong there and the touchscreen features are nicely worked into these titles.

The added functionality like remote play or using the Vita as a PS3 controller is quite nifty.

PS+ is now available on Vita, AAA games available for download on a monthly basis. You can do other internet related stuff on the Vita as well - Skype, Facebook, Email, Internet Browsing. Features like Near, showing you people in or nearby your location that are playing Vita games. Only initial gripe I had was pricing but we are seeing nice bundle Vita deals from most retailers.

Also, for a few games that support it, if you buy the PS3 version, you can download the Vita version free of charge, or transfer DLC between the two systems. Has trophy support for all the trophy whores out there (I'm looking at myself). So yeah, get a normal PSP, like I said, dust sticks nicely on it.

I'll get one only when its really really cheap.. probably in 2 years time or something, hehe! But I'd rather spend that money now on a Xbox with games etc

I hardly think so. I don't own a Vita, but I have played on one. The quality of games and performance of the little thing is considerably better.

Personally........not.
dont see the point in spending that much per month unless the device is a mobile phone as well

I've got a Vita and a 3DS, and the 3DS is used a lot more than the Vita. Vita gets too uncomfortable after prolonged use and the battery is horrendous. I'm hoping now that I've got Playstation Plus that all the free games will get me to use it more. At this point in time, though, I really couldn't recommend a Vita to anyone.

I was actually contemplating on getting a Vita for games such as Uncharted Golden Abyss and Gravity Rush.
I have tried it out and the performance and graphics is very good. I just find it to be a tad bit expensive, both the console and the games.
Although I do see that they are coming out with games that are cross play, such as Playstation Allstars, where I bought the PS3 game and got the PSVita game free for download. SFXT has got support for crossplay too, and if you buy the PSVita version of the game, then you get the unlock code for the 12 extra characters for the PS3 version of the game, which you would normally have to fork an extra 200 bucks for. I wouldn't know about the extended use of the device, but I would get it solely for the crossplay features and the games which are available (Well, 4 which I would play). I would not go for 3G simply because of cost, but if you get it in a good deal, then why the hell not. I am going to wait until it gets cheaper before considering whether I should get one.

Got one, 3g version, i play online alot. Yes its expensive but well worth it. All the extra features and games rock.

Must agree have a vita and not enjoying it that much. Uncharted was average compared to the ps3 version (gameplay). Alot of strain on wrists and hands after prolonged play. Thinking that the 3ds would be the better option to be honest.

I use my Vita more than my PS3 at the moment. It's such an awesome device! Every month PS+ throws free games at me, so I've got a hefty backlog. Busy playing Soul Sacrifice and Valkyria Chronicles 2 :).

I've had mine for almost two weeks now and it's definitely worth it. Love this little machine! Have finished AC Liberation so far and currently busy with Gravity Rush and Rayman Origins mostly. Still need to get PS+, but I need to get a better internet connection first. Trying to get myself a physical copy of Mortal Kombat, but can't find it anywhere.

Since getting the PS+ membership, I am using mine more everyday.
Really looking forward to using it while stuck in a plane for 12 hours...
