[PS3] Buying a 2nd PS3 - Your opinions please...

Hey guys,
I'm just buying a secondhand PS3 80GB model with 2 controllers and 1 game. Not sure what the game is.
It's setting me back R2500. Is this a good price?
It appears to be the PHAT PS3.
Any advice? Is this a good buy? I think it might be out of the 12 month warranty.
 
Thats a great price.

The 80GB aren't really problematic thus far, its mostly the 60GB and 40GB that tend to die after 2 years.
 
Ok great, so I should go for it...
The seller assured me that its in excellent condition and working 100% and if anything goes wrong I could return it.
 
doesn't have the receipt. Apparently it's lost. We meeting at a very busy shopping center to do the deal.

Kinda like the truck that it fell off.

Shady deal sounds shady. If it sounds too good to be true, it normally is.

Save up and buy legit. You'll have A LOT more peace of mind, mate...and if it DOES go faulty, you'll know that you can take it back to the store where you bought it.

I was offered a brand new PS3 @ R2500 when they were still going for R5k. It was obviously a stolen shipment and I have too big a conscience to ever sit down and enjoy the console without feeling guilty.

But it's up to you, boet.
 
Personally I wouldn't be so paranoid.

All I would make sure is that it works. The price is good, but not mind blowing that it sets off alarm bells. I really wouldn't freak out just yet.

As I said I would definitely make sure it works though. And trust your gut, I am sure you are not a dumbass. If you see the guy is a Nigerian carry the PS3 in a checkers packet then um ya there is something not lekker.

And take a mate with you. Easy.

Now the oke knwos you carrying R2500 cash who says his not going to rob you.....

How will you know its not stolen.........

Rather go to his house with a friend
 
also if he bought it at a legit place he can possibly get a reprint of the slip they should have it on record

It's actually a chick that's selling.
She gave me her address and I'm going over to test it before I buy.
