PS3 Controller: Random button pushes fix

Hey all,

I experienced this weird problem whilst playing GTA V, when in a car driving and L3 gets pressed by accident, the character just randomly jumps out of the car. Radio stations and weapons would change on their own.

At first, I only noticed this in GTAV, but soon after it became apparent that it is doing it in every game. In DmC, Dante will randomly switch weapons or cancel a Angel Boost, killing you. This gets really annoying after a couple of weeks.

The fix is a little labour intensive and requires some steady hands, but I did it in 20 minutes and the controller is good as new.

I remember this began happening to my controller too right around when I got Last of Us last year. Was damn annoying but also came across that fix which worked like a charm til this day

Not that I know of. It is a piece of foam holding up a circuit strip, which just goes pap after years of use.

I think its just wear & tear. The foam just loses it's form from regular use.

Cool. Luckily it isn't very difficult, you just have to be pretty gentle with it. The fix works like a charm.

So, this creepy thing just happened Today:

I join a forum.
Browse around randomly.
Then suddenly find a guy having the exact same problem as me with his PS3 controller.
The Game he first noticed the problems happens to be the same too.
The Symptoms match exactly as well.
I was hoping for a fix, AND he placed a fix for it.

... So coincidences like this really do happen!?
