PS3 price cut announced

Whoop whoop! I love price cuts...:) might just go out and buy this with the new price...:) Well not today.. But in the future...:)
 
I paid R3999 for the 320 GB , 3 games, 2 controllers and an HDMI cable so I guess it wasnt too bad. I still told the sales guy 'As soon as I plug this thing in, the price cut is going to come'

This just means I can get a new console xD I miss console gaming alot, Although pc pawns all, Its still nice just being able to chill on the couch and game a bit.
 
You can already get the PS3 for R 3000. If the "price cut" results in anything more than R 2500 this exercise was a waste of time for South Africans.

Yes you can, but that is for a 160GB, I think the article (and price cut) refers to thr 320GB. I know BT games is currently selling the 160GB for R2500 but I haven't seen a 320GB in the region of R3000.

Any guesses at how long it will take them to implement the new prices here?

Great move by Sony (no pun intended). Finally more of my friends will be able to get PS3's now!

I reckon in a month or so. Just speculating...first we need to hear what the SA guys say.
 
glad about the price cut, still confused as to what is the best gaming console out there - lets just say when i bought a video machine i bought Betamax, when the first gaming consoles hit SA, i bought the Sega Saturn, then i Bought a PS2 the day they launched the PS3 - bad luck or pure idiocy - You decide

So much for "price drop is effective immediately".

I reckon sooner if retailers want to bother staying in the game. Who would pay R 500 more at one store if they can get it cheaper next door.
